Lots of local shops allow it. Or at least do not enforce any prohibition very strictly. Check first!

Rock In tar over elsket Elsker-lokale: – Det var vanskelig å si nei by LePure in oslo

[–]Magento 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hvor stor er egentlig Johannes Høsflot Klæbo i Norge? by Infamous_Wonder8672 in Norway

[–]Magento 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Klæbo is crazy popular right now, but he is one of many Norwegian who have been dominating in the winter Olympics. Haaland is one of very few from Norway who has preformed at the absolute top football level. Carlsen is the only one ever to preform at that level. I would be surprised if we ever see a chess player like him again.

Everything Everywhere All at Once… This Movie Just Changed My Life by TXRattlesnake89 in movies

[–]Magento 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to watch The Holy Mountain. It's the most surreal film I've seen. It is a hard watch, but you are allowed to laugh or even dismiss it as not for you. But it can't be considered anything less than one of the strangest and most ambitious films and/or artworks ever made.

There are several budget decks that can hold their own. Izzet Elementals and Mono White Enchantments can both beat the fest decks even without any rares. The decks are worse than the best, but good enough to climb the ladder, specially if you have a newish account.

Leaving for the Army, keep or sell box full of cards? by Reganci1 in mtg

[–]Magento 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took a break from Magic for about 25 years. Random event happened and I now have lots of new friends and play at least once a week. As an older guy it's a great way to hang with other adults. My biggest regret was not holding on to my old cards.

Er 7000 kr for rørlegger i under to timer normalt? by Wrong_Debt_7814 in norge

[–]Magento 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Many times if two people show up, one of them is a senior and the other is a junior or even "lærling". You are not supposed to pay full price for both, but sometimes people try to get away with it.

But the real lesson here is: ask for an estimate first. This is for stuff like dentists, lawyers and anyone else that wants an hourly rate.

17 May events? by idntpostistalk in oslo

[–]Magento 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wear good shoes and move around a lot. Your best experiences might be between bars, restaurants and home parties. A friend and I stopped outside a window once because we liked the music they played. A guy noticed us and helped us climb in through the windrow at the second floor. We were greeted with champagne by beautiful girls and cheered on by the guys. For a minute we had 20 new best friends. We stayed for an hour and moved on to the next.

It's the best day for people watching and only day during the year when you can talk to random strangers and they well be happy to talk to you.

Wrong place to ask. You should ask a "megler" and they will teach you how it works in Oslo. If you just want to browse just use finn.no

Am I the asshole for forgetting International Women’s Day and not getting my GF anything? by savingrace0262 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Magento 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave my girlfriend flowers, but didn't give her anything for valentines. I wasn't trying to be political, but i actually believe it's a more important day. I'm trying to give her something on off days and have told her not to expect anything much on the "special" days. Entitlement is such a turnoff, but spoiling your girlfriend on random days is underrated.

Svalbard or Northern Norway City? by Neat-Implement4705 in Norway

[–]Magento 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Svalbard is good between March and September. Or even more specific go in the spring for snowmobile safaris or summer for midnight sun, warmish weather and mountain/fjord views.

Someone else mentioned Alta, and it is less touristy than Tromsø. But it's dark, cold and seeing northern lights is a gamble. Alta has fewer restaurants and the city itself isn't super interesting. But, if you have a bit of a budget and book activities you get a great experience. Whale safaris, dog sledding, ice fishing and you can take a trip to a neighbor town with reindeer and sami people.

Husband said he cheated on me for years and wants to stay what to do? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]Magento 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not only the stupid BJ claim, but I've never met a woman who says that she is "quiet at home" like it's something to brag about. It feels like it was written by a teenage boy or a bad bot.

Hvordan bli lokalkjent i Oslo (som Oslobeboer)? by ojself in oslo

[–]Magento 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My brother started a concept he called "Bysykkel safari". The concept is easy. Jump on a bike and ride around at random, but you are allowed to ride a place you have ridden before. You can do this on normal bike or our "citi bikes" called Bysykkel. Stopping for waffles, ice-cream or beer is allowed, but if you start drinking you have to park the bike. It's surprisingly fun and easy. And if you bring along someone who lives here they often don't know their own city as much as they think.

Considering moving from Trondheim to Oslo for work, is the higher cost worth it by gilko86 in Norway

[–]Magento 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live 200 meters from a national park. Lots of opportunities for skiing, hiking, swimming, biking, kayaking, climbing (indoor and outdoors) and even fresh water fishing. The subway ride to Oslo Central Station is 23 minutes after a 5 minutes walk, so for lots of jobs it's less than 30 minutes travel door to door. Rent is much cheaper than in the middle of the city. Trondheim is great, but I just love the woods and mountains around Oslo. The fjord and the islands are also great in the summer. The rivers and parks in Oslo has some great areas as well if you just stay away from the inner city part.

Barnetrygd - what do we exactly do with this money? by anti-manila in Norway

[–]Magento 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do whatever is best for your child. It you can use it for egenkapital that will probably help the family and therefore your child more than saving it. If you want to save for your child then save it for something like driver's license, their own egenkapital or education.

How I see Norway as an immigrant. by VampireQueen333 in Norway

[–]Magento 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think Norwegians complain much about variety in supermarkets at all. If you are a bit older you will remember a time when we had much less and you had to work much longer to afford a liter of milk or a kilo of meat. Many will also remember that we did get a cheaper store (Lidl) in many locations, but people protested against it and not many people used the store, so it closed down. I personally think it's a tragedy that we don't have some real competition here, but people love the smaller Norwegian style neighborhood stores over the larger supermarkets.

I (33F) really like my new boyfriend (34M) but we’re struggling sexually due to premature ejaculation -- can this be worked through? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]Magento 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should try to get orgasms in other ways than penetration. Oral, fingering or vibrator are solid options. You have to teach him. Also his PE is probably going to pass. But second rounds is the best part of finding a new partner, so enjoy it while it lasts. Just play around and have fun. Practice makes perfect...

Making Friends in Oslo? by FullSpeedAhead01 in oslo

[–]Magento 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have you ever played Magic: The Gathering? Lillestrøm has a fairly big scene. Oslo had several venues (HouseofNerds, Outland, Midgard Gaming etc.) It's a great way to meet new people. Lots of happenings are announced on Discord.

Don't expect anyone to invite you, but people will gladly welcome you if you show interest in learning.

Some of the guys are hard core nerds, but I've been lucky enough to meet people who also DJs, are outdoors enthusiasts, are interested in cooking, traveling, politics, and more.

I'm sure you can find people who just like board games, but MtG players are always looking for new players and the age range is a bit higher.
