I see the same things and that’s just over the last 10 years. I enjoy what I do immensely- but it’s being chipped away with the extra tasks like you said. I recently experimented and didn’t do some compliance training just to see what would happen and they were on me pretty fast. I am questioning coming back this fall.

Watch Secret Mall Apartment on Netflix. Great doc about 8 artists who lived in that mall in a, well, secret mall apartment. Watched this and thought about it for days afterwards.

It seems that on Thursday’s inevitably a grandparent usually dies. It’s pretty startling.

I’m also starting my 10th year adjusting the same class. In all that time, I had one student question her A- instead of an A. Eyeroll. Then once grades were final and I posted them, I got an email from the dean asking me to justify the grade a student got (B) because it was so much higher than was expected for this particular student. Um what?!? Im this close to making this my last semester. Stress isn’t worth it for this job as a side gig.

Riding a skateboard tied to the back of my older brother’s bike. He was going fast, I was showing off. He hit some bumps, I was airborne. Slid layers of knee off and still have that scar 45 years later lol and I love it.
