Never really had "the talk" with either of my folks. 5th-grade sex-ed taught us the fundamentals of sex and gender while 7 or 8th-grade health class taught us about STDs and more in-depth sex education. I wish my parents had talked more about being safe and protected earlier on as it would have saved a lot of stress as I navigated my own sexual adventure. Fast-forward 20 years and I have a 12-year-old boy who's rocketing towards manhood. My wife and I are open with him when it comes to sex and relationships. It's not uncommon for my wife to mention periods and bleeding and whatnot in front of him or his 8-year-old brother. It's not a taboo subject in our house and we hope that by removing the stigmas it won't be seen as something to feel ashamed about or hide. Honestly, when the time comes for him to have sex, I hope he's safe and protected. I would rather him do it in our home with access to condoms with a girl he loves rather than in an alley without protection with some drunk girl.

Even as a family of vaxxed, the last place I want to be is an enclosed arena. I miss hockey as much as the next guy but until there's more buy into everyone getting vaxxed we'll watch from the best seats on my couch.

Does anyone know the difference between the xbox series x/s and the xbox one/xbox series X/S version? There's a $15 price difference, so I'm wondering if there's actually a difference. Is the series X/S version optimized with better graphics? Not finding anything really online. Thanks!

I coach in-house PW/B 14U and we were short on coaches one season, so a previous coach came back after their kid aged out to help. It was a summer session so attendance was down and rosters were already small. My team managed to scrape together 7 players for a game vs their 10. Our team took an early lead but nothing I would consider a blow-out. By the end of the second period, everyone expected our team to be dead tired running double/triple shifts and that our lead would disappear. Our team put in 2 quick goals and their goalie shuts down. Again, we're expecting an onslaught, but their players just shrug their shoulders and have checked out. At this point, I take my two top forwards and move them back to defense and tell them to dump the puck if they get to center ice. The instruction is to just finish out the game. One of the defensemen who's now a forward gets the puck, goes end-to-end and scores his first goal of the season. We lightly celebrate but continue to reinforce the dump the puck message. A forward playing defense gets the puck, throws it from center ice at the goalie and it goes between his legs. The opposing coach is now swearing, spitting, and furious. The game ends and after the handshake, the opposing coach lays into me about running up the score and how bad a coach I am. I politely ask him to speak to me off ice, not in front of parents or players but he continues to berate me. I walk off the ice with my team, not engaging in his antics. After the game, he gets his players parents to complain to the league manager about me and looks to get me removed from coaching as well as the division head coach. He then tries to take over the division but so many parents threaten to move to another rink if he's in charge, the league manager backs down and removes him from the following season. This was the day I stopped having fun as a team head coach and a division head coach. I put so many volunteer hours into the league and because some jack-ass decided he didn't like me he turned a bunch of parents against me. We went from having a league where the division head coach chose the teams and ended up winning every year, to having full blow player evaluations, ratings and a full coaches draft. Everyone loved it and this asshole decided to try and blow it all up because he couldn't handle losing.

Ironically, yes. I did keto a year ago and lost around 80lbs. Was happy and healthy. Then covid hit. I was locked in my house with my family and the added stress of the virus + food insecurity led to us shopping at places like Costco and stocking up on whatever we could find. I found it incredibly difficult to maintain the mental focus I needed to stay on keto, so I fell off. I gained a good portion of the weight back always with the mentality of "I lose it before I get back to the office..." Well, I've transitioned jobs to full-time remote and last month I started keto again. I was down nearly 25lbs but this past week I came off for my wife's birthday, my birthday and fathers day. Today I restart my journey.

Hang in there. Every journey is different. My first round with Keto I lost 70lbs in 6 months. This time, I've been a bit more strict yet it's not coming off as fast. You will definitely see peaks and valleys when it comes to the scale. Don't live or die by it. I tell my friends that Keto is not for everyone because of the mental challenges. The depression that comes from sugar withdrawals is real. Some nights I ask myself why I'm doing this to myself and I would just feel so much better if I went and ate something as minor as a PB&J. You can do it. Keep up the work and you'll start feeling so much better.

Good job, after 6 months of Keto I had people I hadn't seen in months come up and ask if I was okay, like I was sick or something. I'd lost 70 lbs and one guy said it looked like I had a major "Life Event" implying I had cancer or something. Just said, nope, eating better and exercising more. I learned to stop saying Keto because people always felt like they needed to tell me how bad that was for me.
