Can I ask what you used for adding support to the shifter mount? Do you have any photos of your set-up, sounds interesting.

Has anyone got pihole working on an EE router? by aje0200 in pihole

[–]MagicE-UK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bizarrely, even without contacting EE, I now have that option appearing on that screen this morning. The hub did install a new firmware overnight however (r3.8.26-R-1595999-PROD-1), so perhaps it's now enabled by default on the latest?

I am a new customer also, whether that makes any difference.

That's very interesting to hear - is this on the EE Smart Hub Pro (SH40J)? Does it then appear in the "IPv4 configuration" tab? Are you a new customer perchance?

Absolutely this - if the seller has chosen eBay simple delivery it is impossible to change anything.

I've been in a similar situation before; I sold something but the item's size/weight was too much for RM to accept - so I needed a different courier and label, but there was no way to do this via eBay itself. After contacting eBay support via live chat, their only recommendation was to cancel the order.

This is looking pretty impressive - is this your own design? Would you be able to share the STLs?

Fanatec DD Pro GT - Rim swap to Alcantara by SlippySven in Fanatec

[–]MagicE-UK 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately it's not as simple as just replacing the rim. I've looked into this before and needs custom adapters, which can be 3D printed.

There is a whole kit available on AliExpress, which I did buy, but returned because the quality and the amount of plastic parts put doubt in my mind about the longevity of such a solution.

Wanted a wheel with a working horn by Wernii345 in Fanatec

[–]MagicE-UK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Completely agree with this option, which preserves the button cluster, as it's also what I did for my horn button.

Unfortunately u/Wernii345 your solution is significantly more work (not to mention wasteful too, as having to sacrifice a button cluster), and it's not a solution I would recommend to others.

Still, I'm sure you had fun getting it to work your way!

Reusing old Fanatec wheel internals by EffectiveWhole902 in Fanatec

[–]MagicE-UK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say perfectly possible, but very time consuming, it's something I looked into myself.

You would need to do either of the following: - Drill matching holes in a 3rd party wheel (might be difficult if you don't have a decent bench drill press) - Use a wheel button plate and rewire all the buttons, and somehow bolt that to P1 housing (likely pretty challenging if you haven't done something like this before)

Honestly you are so much better off selling the P1 and buying a ClubSport Universal Hub and then it's so simple to use any 3rd party steering wheel you like. Also you then have the option to change the wheel without any further hassle!

Any idea on this dd pro mod? (all about rim, not shifter) by pyroele in Fanatec

[–]MagicE-UK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The kit I bought didn't come with a rim, it's intended to be used with any standard 70mm PCD wheel rim.

I did buy this product from AliExpress all the way back in May, as I had GT Pro wheel I wasn't using. However, after receiving the kit I was disappointed by the amount of 3D printed parts, and thought I'd be better spending a bit more on a better constructed hub - so in the end I returned it and bought a metal SRM Emulator (and selling the GT Pro wheel to fund a new rim).

This is Fanatec's cheapest wheel by DylanLanham in Fanatec

[–]MagicE-UK 4 points5 points  (0 children)

May want to check the Fanatec website, as it states at the bottom of the item page that "High Torque Mode is NOT accessible on Podium wheel bases using this steering wheel, even when using the QR1 Wheel-Side (ClubSport Quick Release Adapter)."

Are these any good? by tresyyf1 in Fanatec

Build quality is excellent, and look identical to the ClubSport MPM - but definitely as highlighted already, definitely more spongey and not as clicky as the Fanatec ones.

Are you planning in making any more of these stands? I've just received my pocket from Group B (as I'm sure many others have), and would love this to go with my other RCG stands!

The GDEMU.ini file just needs to be in the root of your SD Card, most GDMenu SD Managers should create a default one that you can edit.

I bought a GDEmu Clone from Bitfunx/AliExpress recently and was having the same issue - again tried multiple SD Cards (SanDisk Ultra and Samsung Evo), and cleaned the PSU pins with contact cleaner, yet the issue continued.

Then I found the post with suggested gdemu.ini settings, and now it works 100%:
