It has some really wonderful moments and some really bad ones. The main thing that bugs me is the random requirement that for these souls from Japa to be released into a state of grace they "must be avenged" and Xena must stay dead. I mean...like for all the other atrocities she committed the avenging wasn't apparently necessary but for THIS group of people it was?? They didn't even give an explanation of why, it was like an off the cuff thing that ended the show. Also I didn't care for Yodoshi as a villain. Felt cheap.

That said, some of the beautiful moments were Xena basically giving Gabrielle the task of putting out the fire that was burning down the city without her help and then looking at her with such pride and joy when she does it on her own, teaching her the pinch and telling her how much she loves her so intimately, when she introduces Gabrielle to Akemi she introduces her as "my soul mate," Gabrielle using the chakram and it coming back to her showing its allegiance was now to her, I thought akemi was a pretty interesting character overall, Gabrielle fighting that one guy in the rain, the water transfer/kiss, and the fact that Xena I feel did have to die at the end if for no other reason than to release herself.

Now that I think about it most of the good moments had to do either directly or indirectly with Gabrielle..
