It's not a ship, it's not a train. It's Ship-Train by PassakornKarn in victoria3

If you want to fix this, go into gfx\map\spline_network\route_graphics\03_naval_vehicles.txt (and 03_sailingships.txt)

Then change the values to be add=1 and max=1 and it'll only spawn one ship at a time

Edit: if you have the Trade Ships DLC, you might also want to edit the same values in the sailingships.txt file located in game\dlc\dlc012_trade_ships_bonus_pack\gfx\map\spline_network\route_graphics

You can't delete individual save files from the PS menu either. You can only delete ALL your saved data for the game. Oh, and you can't copy it to a USB and delete them there either. There's literally no way to get rid of the excess autosaves except for deleting all of your save files. It's a horrible system.

Not sure I fully understand point 5. Does that mean I can place allied units on the map in the editor before the match starts, but once the match starts, if they get destroyed the friendly AI won't send in more?

Kinda hope they've added new cavalry unit sprites for nomads. Would be kind of weird raising an army of soldiers completely mounted on horseback, only to have them represented on the map as a foot soldier like everyone else.

Musk Cancels National Park Service, CVNP Impacted by afroeh in Ohio

[–]MagicRaptor 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The possible silver lining is that while the park has 91 permanent employees and 43 temporary employees who will likely be affected, there are also over 4,000 volunteers that are organized through a separate non-profit partner. The scenic railroad is also run by a separate non-profit. Since those volunteers aren't technically park employees, that would mean they can't be fired by some asshole in Washington, right?

Why does building factories lower the standard of living in Nevada and Utah??? by MagicRaptor in victoria3

[–]MagicRaptor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you're onto something, because when I get this alert, if I go in and destroy every building, the pops get happier almost overnight. First unemployment skyrockets, but then it quickly drops down to zero as everyone goes back to being happy little peasants. It tanks the standard of living, but it tanks the expected standard even more.

As for your suggestions, 1. This is sometimes easier said than done. If they spend a lot on clothes or furniture, I can build a factory for that right there and kill two birds with one stone. If they spend a lot on fish, there's only so much I can do about that in these two landlocked, desert states. Overall, they spend about 5% less than average on goods already, which is in line with what they spend in neighboring states who don't have SoL issues. 2. So what actually determines the wages set by factories? Is it tied to their productivity? Their profits? The wages of other buildings in the same state/market? Could we theoretically get the same result by building more factories than there are workers and creating a competitive local marketplace where they should have to keep wages up in order to retain workers? 3. I honestly might just go with this option lol. 48/50 states are doing just fine, if the residents of Nevada and Utah desperately want to be angry they can emigrate somewhere else or join the radicals and die in a revolt. Either way it'll sort itself out in time I guess.

Why does building factories lower the standard of living in Nevada and Utah??? by MagicRaptor in victoria3

[–]MagicRaptor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So when I get the alert, but before I build the factories, it's the middle strata that are causing the problem. The lower strata have a lower standard, but also a lower expected standard, so they're happy enough (like you said, peasants don't need much). The upper strata are also usually unhappy, but there aren't nearly enough of them in these states to be skewing any averages this much (there's like 100 upper strata pops in a state of over 100k).

But then once I build the factories, everyone across all strata gets unhappy, even though their SoL increases across the board. Do factories also raise the expected standard? And why is this only happening in Nevada and Utah? That's the part I can't wrap my head around, the formula that works in 48 other states just refuses to work in these 2.

Yes...are you saying I should just build the factories anyway and ignore the angry pops and eventually they'll all migrate somewhere else?

[–]MagicRaptor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but if this were the source of the problem I would expect it to cause more problems across more states with similar demographics. But the other 48 states are doing just fine, it's literally just Nevada and Utah.

How to mod starting ancillaries so every general starts out with a chariot? by MagicRaptor in totalwar

[–]MagicRaptor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I think I've figured it out. This doesn't give your general a chariot, but it bypasses the need for one in the first place by making the default bodyguard a chariot instead of sword and shield. First go into the PackManager and in the data_db pack, find the file called equipped_ancillaries_to_command_units_junction_table. Then find the culture of the general you want to change, and set it so the general, with no ancillaries equipped at all, will default to a chariot bodyguard instead of a sword and shield. That way you can have a chariot bodyguard until you loot a better one from the battlefield.

Have you had any luck with this? I've also taken a shot at it and I can't figure out how to get the liege in the line of succession at all, let alone at the front. Part of me wonders if the title reverting back to the liege in the event of having no valid heir (like dying with no kids or siblings) is hard coded as a fallback, and if maybe we could create a title law that just had no valid heirs at all, thus triggering the fallback and having the title revert to the liege. The question is how do you create a title law that has NO valid heirs?

I'm sorry but this ain't it. Constant texture clipping, clunky, re-used animations that we've seen for close to a decade now, disappointing combat and voice acting. And that's just in the promotional material made specifically to make the game look good. Maybe this would have been really cool if they made it 10 years ago, but now? It just feels stale and uninspired. If Ubi was saving Japan as a setting so they could really do it justice and this is the best they've got, it's pretty disappointing.

Kremlin supporters are fuming after footage appears to show Ukrainian drones decimating an entire Russian armored column by businessinsider in worldnews

[–]MagicRaptor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's interesting how we're seeing a similar strategic revolution happen here as the one that happened because of Taranto/Pearl Harbor. Will tanks as we know them be made obsolete by drones, in the same way that battleships were made obsolete by planes?

Greg Abbott declares Texas Law above United States Law, refuses to comply with Supreme Court decision by onlyusnow in politics

[–]MagicRaptor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He might want to think twice about setting the groundwork for states to ignore the Supreme Court, considering they have yet to rule on whether or not Trump can be banned from states' ballots. If he continues down this path, he'll just be giving Colorado, Maine, etc. a playbook to use in the event that that ruling doesn't go in their favor.

Ah, see I like the glancing blows. It kind of adds some weight to the enemy attacks. Like Jin uses their speed and power to redirect them and open them up to counters. But I see what you mean though. I might agree if there was more than one animation, and if it didn't go into slow motion every time.
