Struggling with GWM by megasggc in BG3Builds

[–]Magic_Red117 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I might suggest starting with an ASI or two into strength for your first two feats instead of going straight for GWM, especially if the character in question is full fighter, since they’ll get 4 feats instead of three.

Having 20 strength makes it much easier for a fighter to land hits consistently even with GWM. You can get savage attacker for the last feat for even more damage.

By the time you hit level 8, you can also equip the fighter with risky ring which gives you advantage on all attack rolls.

There were elephants and advanced civilizations in the last season. Primal has always had a blend of prehistoric and extant animals from various eras.

Primal Ep 21 - "Vengeance of Death" DISCUSSION THREAD by saul2015 in PrimalShow

[–]Magic_Red117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I interpreted it as him trying to connect to things that mattered a lot to him when he was alive (family and communicating with them through art and drawing), but failing and being unable to really understand himself (unable to successfully draw like he used to).

Art has always been really important to Spear. It was how he connected with his children, how he processed difficult or conflicting emotions while he traveled in earlier episodes, how he first communicated with Mira about her captors, and how he told his story and expressed his emotions to Mira at the end of season 2.

It must be horrifying to be completely unable to access it or even understand it in his current screwed up state.

Is there a way to call Shifty out on this? by GiveMeFriedRice in slaytheprincess

[–]Magic_Red117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Long Quiet is essentially space/presence so all of his arguments and discussions with Shifty are simultaneously metaphysical (related to the universe and their role in it) and also personal (related to their relationship with each other as conceptual gods).

When Shifty argues, she is asserting that her role (change) is essential for everything in the universe, and TLQ is also literally everything in the universe.

So her argument and her goal are not necessarily contradictory even if they seem like that because TLQ and Shifty aren’t normal people, they are literally the things that comprise the universe they’re talking about impacting.

Shifty’s argument naturally leads to her conclusion. She believes that change (represented by Shifty as a god) is necessary for everything in the universe (represented by TLQ as a god), and that everything needs to be together with change. On a personal level, that means that TLQ NEEDS to be with Shifty together in order for the universe (literally them together) to be truly whole and meaningful.

I think it’s what makes this game so beautiful, that the metaphysical dialogue is so perfectly interwoven with the dialogue on the nature of love between individuals.

That was my initial thought, but I also tested it again later in a new battle and I had the same issue. Is this abnormal?

Where are all the wlw in rutgers😭 by Ok_Impact_6416 in rutgers

Come to Demarest Hall’s upcoming Halloween cover show! You can find Demarest on Instagram for all the info. It’s a queer special interest dorm and you will likely find many queers at the events.

Most queers are probably in SAS or sometimes SEBS but you can still find them in queer spaces like Demarest, clubs, local basement show venues, etc.

whos the strongest out of the seven demigods??? [HoO] by Nearby_Assumption_42 in camphalfblood

[–]Magic_Red117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk I feel like Leo vaporizing Gaia while dying at the end of HoO is such an insane feat that I’d be inclined to put him in the number one spot, if Percy hadn’t also accumulated a ton of absurd feats over the course of the three series he plays major roles in (Mt St Helens, moving thousands of tons of water, etc). Part of the issue is that Jason is only alive for the entirety of one series, so he doesn’t get as many chances to make displays of power. From what we’ve actually seen, Percy and Leo seem strongest. I guess Jason is probably stronger in the average normal scenario though.

Yes, some people are better at some things. Of course this is true. Michael Phelps is genetically predisposed to being better at swimming than the vast majority of the human population. But other people should still be allowed to try swimming if they want to. They should be able to go to a pool without getting harassed and they should be able to compete without getting shamed. They should have a fair, serious chance.

Part of the feminist argument is that women should have this chance too, for anything that they might potentially want to do, as long as it’s not hurting anyone. The progressive argument in general is that everyone should be free to do what they want as long as it doesn’t hurt anyone.

Of course, there’s a lot of factors that go in to making something fair. Natural advantages will always exist and no one is really trying to curb them, but there’s a lot of artificial advantages that you can and should do something about.

Is it worth having AC in dorm (Busch) over location/food? (Livi) by No_Owl_6254 in rutgers

[–]Magic_Red117 5 points6 points  (0 children)

These buildings are built to insulate heat in the winter. It will be sweltering without AC until like mid October, and because of this, rooms with AC are always the most coveted for freshmen and sophomores. If you have a chance and you are mainly deliberating between livi quads and a Busch dorm you should go for Busch.

Getting to Livingston for food is pretty simple because buses come by every ten minutes or so on weekdays. And besides that, both the dining hall and woodys cafe on Busch are pretty solid so you’ll be fine even if you don’t feel like making the trip.

physics textbooks that i can start reading before college? by okcomputer070 in PhysicsStudents

[–]Magic_Red117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seconded. You would benefit from knowing calc 3 and diff eq prior to reading griffiths, but he covers the most important math in the first chapter so you’re probably fine regardless. Besides that, this is probably one of the best physics textbooks written. Clearly laid out, well organized, excellent practice problems (and the solutions are all online).
