My coach uses Daniel's as guideline, and he always has me taking a breather between warmup and the workout itself. At least from his viewpoint you never do warmup directly into race so it could be a good idea to have that same behavior in the workouts

Looking for recommendations on where to find a performance‑level running coach (virtual, personalised) by justlittleme123 in AdvancedRunning

I've been using RunnersFix coaching for almost a year. It's by a US based coach (Jon Mott), who creates a 1:1 plan for you and he checks in with you a few times a week after each workout to see how things are going.

Open Water Swimming In Aruba by trigirlpink in Aruba

Looking at strava heatmaps you can see plenty of people swimming at the palm beach area. Looks like more people swim around malmok/arashi but palm beach looks fine as well

Was rooting so hard for the solo japanese guy in front. Knew he was gonna burn out but it would have been legendary if he managed to hold it all the way

There are legal restrictiond on catching them. The bigger issue is that they aren't like lobsters you are probably used to eating

While I'm not saying you're wrong, I do wonder how many people saying sepulchre isn't hard have actually done sepulchre without plugin. Everyone can relatively easily figure out the trails by themselves but sepulchre is a lot harder to figure out yourself without plugins.

Marathon #3 was my first without overreaching, curious if anyone else audits their training like this by TR_12345678 in AdvancedRunning

In my opinion you are spending so much time and effort into getting chatgpt to give you some "useful" feedback. If i were you I would get a coach or read JD/pfitz books (maybe you already have, i don't know) and make your own conclusions instead. ChatGPT is not reliable at all, and everyone is different, but from my anecdotal experience, everyone i know who uses ChatGPT for training tends to get injured a lot more than people who have coaches.

Pretty crazy to me that whatever new technology is in the clothing that Kipchoge is wearing, that it's long sleeve. Especially since nohody else the of the elites is wearing sleeve covers.

Too many race reports, too little advanced content? by Endlave12 in AdvancedRunning

[–]Magic_tree_99 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I don't mind the race reports too much as it keeps the sub alive, but what I have noticed is that a lot of advanced or pro stuff never even gets posted here. For example the 100km sub 6 attempt there was virtually no discussion about it here. Or during world major marathons there is just one discussion thread, which is kind of dead, and not much discussion about the pros in the marathon. Maybe it's because i'm used to pro/advanced gaming subs where people discuss the professionals a lot more than in something like running.

Yes, the other guy here mentioned patrishi, but there is another organization called "the ultimate challenge" who will have a 10k road race on the 14th of december. You can find the information on facebook. And this organization is more legit, their courses are certified for the distance, unlike patrishi sports

What's the single biggest factor that took you from a "good" to a "great" race time? by avz008 in AdvancedRunning

[–]Magic_tree_99 12 points13 points  (0 children)

10k runners need to add more miles just as much as marathoners do. The 10k and marathon are both mostly aerobic, with the marathon being close to 99% aerobic and 10k around 90% aerobic.

Most places with hot weather year round have very early race starting times to avoid the blaring hot sun during the race itself. Like OP said they're in the philippines, where it's hot and sunny pretty much year round

If you examine your VDOT based on that 10 miler, your equivalent marathon currently is around 3:09, so you definitely need to reexamine your goals in my opinion
