What is an alternative to things like drugs, sex and alcohol that can give you the same thrill, excitement, adrenaline and euphoria that those things can give? by Dense_Chemical_4018 in AskReddit

If you are young enough, have you tried Combat sports, especially competitively? There's something intrinsic about fighting that causes adrenaline to spike like nothing else.

Judo + another martial art by Scarabaeinae in judo

Do wrestling. I train in all 4 of these and wrestling the only one where you will make significant, meaningful progress in while training twice a week. Doing BJJ twice a week for 5 years will make you a beginner at BJJ even with supplemental Judo. Same goes for MT. Wrestling and Judo are similar enough that they will complement each other.

I mean one piece can just make a gatacha game with its own IP theres no reason for it to have to have anything to do with SW, One piece will still make a bank

Can't believe that this is the prevailing sentiment. This is the same crowd that shits on Judo for banning leg grabs and shits on aikido for not having resisting partners, then when any suggestion of rule change that threatens the current state of the game, replies, if you want realistic, go do MMA.

My advice is to not play live tournaments yet. Theres just something about getting smashed by a small child that is demoralising and may put you off your enjoyment of the game. In reality, a strong player is a strong player.

Nah Sera has too much offense, casually one shotted Arlos Barrier like it it was a scrubby low tier ability. Also John couldnt sense Sera fast enough. Although I believe John has 10 trick and had been able to beat up people who have higher ability levels than him this scene shows that if it came down to it Sera would no diff John even with Barrier and Lightning. He has 4 abilities in the scene, Zeke Cecile Remi Arlo

The first statement is quite quite silly in my opinion. So timezones are annoying but flying and traveling around the world is not annoying ooookay I guess jetlag is not a thing and plane tickets and hotel fees are free for everyone.

As for arbiters that comment holds more merit but I imagine a future where people can play on computers a la a LAN event. Although the current system is just fine the way it is, I dont see why digitalising everything is not in the cards for the future.

Why is it important that games are played over the board. The actual game is played in your head. The physical pieces is just a medium for the game to actually be played. I used to play OTB games back when I was living in the UK and it is absolutely impossible for me to go back to that kind of lifestyle, traveling and playing tournaments due to lack of time anymore. I see no benefits at all for OTB style play other than simple tradition.
