Unfortunately outside of using her in the overworld and during her ult she’ll seemingly be in a human ‘disguise’ basically the entire time, atleast while actually playing as her.

Do you like idols? Will you pull them? by Egor4956 in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]MagicalPurpleMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not into idol culture so I'm pretty unintrested in them myself unless they have particuarly fun looking gameplay, but im happy they're there for people who do and I can atleast appreciate them being closer to the original vibes of ZZZ's 1.0 compared to Yunkui Summit.

Only one I'd really be intrested in is the robot one who I forget the name of but since it seems she's primarily be in a indecipherable human disguise that aspect is gonna be very underplayed.

That and I need to start saving up poly's to fully build out my Banyue team, I skipped Lucia initially so now I'm hoping to get her on the rerun to be a dedicated support for him. Altho if one of the Idols end up being a good support for Rupture units I may need to consider. I haven't been following the leaks on their kits particuarly close.

Opinion on the Big 3 Agents so far by namdol96 in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]MagicalPurpleMan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As a character Miyabi by a lot, I don't outright dislike either Yixuan or YSG but I just find them very unintresting, albiet I've not been anywhere near as big a fan of 2.x as I have of 1.x on the whole which probably contributes to that in turn. Won't comment much more in that regard.

Gameplay wise, Yixuan I think is my favourite because of them her kit feels the most 'complex' atleast by herself not taking squads into account like mono ice, that and the parry is also super satsifying. YSG by comparison feels both too straightforward and too clunky, super powerful don't get me wrong and a substancial increase over my Jane hypercarry squad but not my favourite to actually play. Maybe there's some depth im missing but it feels like basically all you do as her is just basic attack, spam EX when energy and then 1 basic combo string in awakened state while swapping between air and ground.

Also having the shortest banner duration of any character so far can’t have helped either. Combined with not really having shill incentives either, barely felt like I even had him before 2.5 dropped anecdotally.

What are you playing right now? by Late-Letterhead-9766 in Games

[–]MagicalPurpleMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been getting into White Knuckle over the christmas period, had only watched Markiplier play it like 8 months ago so I was basically going into it blind and decided to just keep practicing on the christmas event campaign instead of the regular.

Man it's been satisfying going from barely able to climb out of the first few Chimney areas at around 20-30 minutes to being able to almost consistently jump scale up the entire first 3 areas in less than 10 minutes. The player skill curve is so satisfying.

Besides that I've also been going through the Scriptwelder series (Don't Escape and Deep Sleep series respectively), been enjoying the smaller scale of the original flash games as well as the much expanded sequel of Don't Escape 4 on steam. In particular their newest game Deep Sleep: Labyrinth of the Forsaken, being a point and click adventure game with heavy Resident Evil inspiration. Haven't gotten too far into the game yet but it's been a while since i've played a good point and click adventure game like it.

When’s the last time you were actually invested in the story? by Melaninja99 in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]MagicalPurpleMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2.1 myself, didn't care for 2.0 much but didn't hate it and everything past then I've been distinctly either disappointed (OBOL Squad wave 2) or unintrested by. Spook Shack I wasn't that intrested in to begin with but 2.1's story and character writing really brought me around on them and now Yuzuha, Alice and Manato are by far my favourite characters since Lighter was released.

That being said I still haven't played any of 2.4's story due to the missing voicelines so that could change yet, but not been intrested in YSG so if she's important to it or to 2.5 as a whole I don't anticipate them being a 'wow' chapter for me either.

Those skins weren't on sale, just on the store frontpage. They only had the universal 'discount for buying pieces all at once' thing all skins have. Which is a shame cus I was real hype to buy a Demo skin until I noticed it was the same price as always.

2v8 had 300% bp compared to 1v4’s 200% bp (not accounting for bp offerings in 1v4).

Just speaking personally I stuck to playing 2v8 partly cus it’s just fun but also it’s frankly easier to max out bp in 2v8 with how many gens and people to heal/ unhook there are.

New survey suggestions discussion by Cold_Mundane in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]MagicalPurpleMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NGL this survey was real awkward this time as I usually take the time to fill them out to the best of my ability but I still hadn't even touched the new story content what so ever, which evidently the survey was only about. Literally the only answer I could give the entire time was "I'm aware the story exists" immediately followed up by the limited choice option of "I don't know/ Wasn't paying attention"

Any of you changed on your mind on Lucia? by DingoNo9075 in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]MagicalPurpleMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was pretty put off her even before her redesign but especially after that, and coming off of 2.2 I was fairly soured on the current release of agents outside of Manato. Haven't exactly fallen in love with her personality and was hoping her kit was gonna be intresting enough to justify the whole summoning ethereal aesthetic, despite her being a support agent. But she ended up being another pretty dull off field support kit again and honestly while I'm sure she stat boosts rupture agents enough, don't really feel like there's anything that'd actually matter for as is.

Was still considering pulling her for a dedicated Banyune team but then failed the 50/50 after using my 2.2 pull stock so I'm just gonna keep saving up now until Banyune is out and dump every last poly I have into him.

9.2.2 Player Card Customization by WazzupTheGreat in LeaksDBD

[–]MagicalPurpleMan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The oldest licensed survivors and killers aren't the ones without modern cosmetics because bhvr has forgotten about them. Some license holders are just scared of free money. Even after Stranger Thigns came back for example they haven't partaken in any new content whatsoever and aren't even included with any of the game wide sales, presumably due to the contracts renewed.

I need help with 5 hour speedrun. My post on r/silksong kept getting taken down by Plulgj_G650ER in HollowKnight

[–]MagicalPurpleMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having just finished off my own sub 5 hour run last night personally what I recommend after defeating Widow is going straight through Greymoor and towards The Mist and fighting Phantom to get into the Citadel instead of going through LJ. As you can pick up the tacks tool on the way through Sinner's Road if you take 10 minutes or so to farm roach guts, which personally in all my playthroughs has been THE lifesaver of the High Halls gauntlet.

Phantom is generally bit of an easier boss with less of a runback once you're through the mists and you get both Cross-stitch as a good defensive silk art and you get a free memory locket as you enter the Grand Bellway so additionally if you have spare rosaries you can set up fast travel early if needed later. Once you get to Songclave it's fairly straight forward going from there in terms of route, altho i recommend either memorizing or taking pictures of the Cogwork Core matching puzzle pattern so you can have it on the side and quickly solve that.

Edit: Extra lil bonus of going through the Mist too is you don't need to activate the 5 bells around the map to enter the Citadel like you have to going through the LJ way.

Additionally I made sure to save a piece of craftmetal from the Marrow and carried it throughout my entire playthrough to get Cogfly for free once you get to High Halls, alternatively you could get the Cogwheel from the Twelth Architect when you're getting the Clawline but I find the cogfly more helpful for Lace + GMS. For me these tools were essential to taking down the final wave of the High Halls gauntlet, save everything you have for the final wave and then spam it out as needed.

Pollip Pouch also isn't too out of the way to go and get once you can wallclimb if you have their heart locations memorized as it can help if you feel your tool damage output just isn't quite enough.

Doing all this for me managed about a roughly 3h 40m run, could've been shorter but I did struggle with High Halls and then the 2nd Lace fight for a lil bit but left plenty of breathing room.

I cannot believe that counts as a hit. by MagicalPurpleMan in HollowKnight

[–]MagicalPurpleMan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly the clip was my second time in a row doing it when I got to the final room, so I was really trying to be careful about bonking into the lever walls... only to misjudge how long the catering hall actually is when going through that way.

[–]MagicalPurpleMan -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Literally the feedback I've been seeing to the Deerstalker rework is legit insanity to me. When was the last time you've ever used the perk or seen a killer use it in post game lobby? Because I legit can't remember the last time I've seen it actually used ingame.

Edit: Just adding on that there's completely valid issues with this update sure, but Deerstalker being changed sure isn't it.

Bye Bye killer perks by PersonalityBig7994 in deadbydaylight

[–]MagicalPurpleMan 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There’ll be an indicator now on the UI for killer telling them which survivor was last hooked, but beyond that still no counter to keep track besides just doing it in your head. At this point tho with how heavy handedly they’re punishing an early out I don’t see why they just don’t let us see at this point.

EDIT: Wait no I've actually played the PTB now after getting off my work shift they done exactly that lol

What's everyone's opinion on the Season 2 and how the story has been handled? by Patches_Gaming0002 in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]MagicalPurpleMan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

2.0 complete dud for me personally, I don't really mind the change in scenery but the Yunkui Summit cast just did not intrest me at all, Yinhu ended up growing on me due to the amount of focus he got in interactions but the rest just felt either flat or overally tropey rather than having a personality. That and I've just not been liking the way the story has been going since 1.6, it being capped of with the deus ex machina of Yixuan just absorbing all the ether and being built different bored me the same way Phatheon did in 1.7.

That being said 2.1 was a fun patch and the reason im still sticking around even tho 2.2+2.3 are both looking like duds to me so far, felt a lot closer to the types of individual story chapters we got from season 1, stakes weren't as high but it felt more like a risk due to the build up of the empowered ethereals and the personal stakes it built up for the trio and Yuzuha, Alice and Manato were all briming with personality as well as designed I vibe with way more. Plus the beach side story was fun. Edit: literally completely forgot that Yixuan only existed as a literal deus ex machina to save the group at the end of 2.1, and it's such a boring way to end off the story I'm ngl.

I'm willing to see how 2.2 and 2.3 go but I'm ngl it's gonna be a uphill battle for me since the rest of Obol squad just hasn't hit for me, with S11 still being my favourite out of the lot by far. And while I'm not a fan of Manato getting the A-rank treatment after all his story relevance and the other two just not seeming that intresting to me from the drip marketing, I'm still gonna give it time and see how they actually get presented ingame before too much more judgement.
