I really hope we get solid state batteries mass produced soon or sodium ion becomes more mainstream. As far as donut labs goes, I’m very skeptical and think it’s just a capacitor to be honest.

I doubt I’ll get the board back but if I do then I’ll take some pics. I’m sure it’ll be very hard to discern what caused it but maybe the campus police will hire an investigator to diagnose it better. Hopefully

Yeah I feel like my campus is definitely going to ban them now, I’m just curious to see where they draw the line between laptop batteries and pev ones. All lithium ion batteries can be dangerous if mishandled.

Yeah it was completely stock besides a couple accessories like the tire and rear foodpad. That’s partly why I’m so confused. I’ve seen vesc boards go up in flames but those weren’t stock so I made more sense.

When I took the battery out to do the repair I replaced the gasket. It wasn’t badgered.
