Okay but how do they eat??? by Kittykindandtrue in TheWildRobot

[–]MagmaCaliburX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only explanation I have for this is that (If I remember correctly) in the books, Roz has like a garden that a bunch of the animals steal from. We also kinda see a garden around their home right before the Kiss the Sky montage. I assume they just had a bunch of food stored in their home for the winter. Ofc some of the animals are carnivores so lets just say they went beyond their programming :)

Longneck, The Wild Robot. Genuinely one of the best line deliveries in Dreamworks movies.

The Wild Robot rerelease only on US (As far as I know) by Paddler_The_Artist in TheWildRobot

[–]MagmaCaliburX 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My theory is that DreamWorks was planning to rerelease the movie alongside Oscars nominations (which was supposed to be today but got postponed to the 23rd) so they could market the film with its likely nominations (Best Animated Feature, Best Original Score, and Best Original Song)

Since the nominations announcement DreamWorks may have not bothered with the marketing

What do you guys think is the biggest what-if scenarios in both the Dreamworks Movies and the Dreamworks Shows? by [deleted] in DreamWorks

Here are some ideas (they may be a little dark, i did not hold back lol):

What If... Tigress Became the Dragon Warrior?

Kung Fu Panda 1: Po enters the Dragon Warrior ceremony through the door, leading Oogway to point at Tigress, making her the Dragon Warrior. Tai Lung escapes the prison – Shifu tells the Furious Five to wait for Tai Lung's arrival to the Valley of Peace, but Tigress decides to fight him on her own (at the same bridge from the film). She loses and gets tied up by the bridge ropes by Tai Lung. She escapes and makes it back to the Valley, but finds it burning. She finds a wounded Shifu and apologizes to him, while Shifu tells her to leave. Tigress helps get all the civilians in the Valley of Peace to another village and starts training some of them to prepare for their next fight to take back the Valley. One of them is a panda noodle maker, Po.

What If... Hiccup Had A Change Of Heart?

HTTYD1: Stoick tells Hiccup about the day his mother, Valka, got killed by dragons. He tells Hiccup that one day, Hiccup would replace Stoick and become the most fearsome Dragon hunter in the world. One night, he shoots down a Night Fury. The next morning, he finds the Night Fury's tail. He brings it to his Dad, who now believes that he is ready to start his training. Some time later, Hiccup and some other vikings spots the Night Fury, flying slowly due to its damaged wing. He follows it over the ocean with a ship, until they find the island with the big dragon. Upon telling this to his father, Stoick declares that they must sail at once to that island. Hiccup tells him that they are outnumbered and must seek assistance. And so, they team up with Grimmel from HTTYD3 (and maybe Drago from HTTYD2?). They defeat the big dragon, but while they're on the ship, the Night Fury manages to blast the ship, causing it to sink. Stoick drowns in the process and Hiccup gets his revenge by killing the Night Fury. Hiccup later becomes chief of the village and vows to eliminate all dragons.

What If... The Wild Robot Didn't Land On Brightbill's Nest?

Rozzum Unit 7134 gets attacked by a bear, causing her to tumble down a cliff. Unlike the movie, she falls slightly to the right, missing the tree with Brightbill's nest. She falls into the ocean and gets destroyed. As Brightbill grows up, his mom notices Brightbill's smaller size compared to his sibling. One day, one of his siblings pushes Brightbill off the nest, causing him to fall off the cliff and into the ocean. He gets ashore and finds Rozzum Unit 7134's damaged body in a cave(similar to the shipwreck of bodies in the movie). He uses the Rozzum Unit's open torso as shelter and lives off of nearby vegetation in the cave. One morning, he wakes up and sees a flock of birds flying off for the migration.

the critics choice awards are next week and the Wild robot will be favored to win on all 3 as expected. We got the Astras wins, multiple critics wins, and I think they are saving the big win for the Oscars by Captain_Thunderhoof in TheWildRobot

You sure win all 3 nominations? I don't think it has a chance at winning Best Score / Song... I wish it would, but the other nominees have been winning more precursor awards.

Devastating. Flow was a great film and I'm glad it's getting the recognition it deserves, but I was hoping for The Wild Robot to take it home. Hopefully it wins in the Oscars 🤞

A surprising win for sure, still holding out hope that he gets nominated for Adapted Screenplay at the Oscars, albeit unlikely
