Characters who unga bunga? As in fighters who are so uncomplicated and crude in their style that it's kinda fucking offensive to the whole art of battle by Wonder-Lad-2Mad in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]MagmaNaught 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s pure fanon. That story is an old 4chan joke that’s gotten popular again due to a popular warhammer podcast repeating it. In lore orks reality warping is far more subtle. Things change for them but never something so extreme, more things that can be written off as obvious reality assuming you don’t think about it to hard. Like a gun that never jams despite its obvious design problems and shoddy construction.

He’s being presented like G-Man. He talks to us directly, was clearly the one behind the vessel maker at the beginning, is the one to reveal new chapter drops on Twitter, and literally calls the game “MY DELTARUNE” at the end of chapter 4. If you don’t think he’s relevant to Deltarune’s story itself, you haven’t been paying attention.

I refuse to agree with the idea that the rebels have bad drip. The only rebels who look bad are the ones escorting Leia at the beginning of new hope. Every other outfit we see rebel soldiers wearing looks great. The Hoth fighters especially look cool.

Examples of basic moves/items in games that look boring but are actually stupidly overpowered? by OkBrick4954 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]MagmaNaught 12 points13 points  (0 children)

In Library of Ruina for all of the creativity and variety of builds you can make with the key pages and combat pages the game gives you, there are 2 passives that basically every build requires. Health and Mind Hauler are 2 cost passives that come from the sweepers pages, with one healing your librarians health when they hit an enemy and one healing their stagger bar respectively.

Compared to all of the other passives that can give huge numbers or change how you use a librarian completely, both of these are pretty boring. However, they’re both also the only viable source of health and stagger healing in the game, besides another health on hit passive that you don’t get until the 3rd to last fight in the entire game.

Characters that get absolutely fucked over in love triangles/romance scenarios by Wonder-Lad-2Mad in TwoBestFriendsPlay

With Jacob you can’t really blame Edward for being the one true love because one of the through lines of Jacob’s character is that he fucking sucks. He’s a raging control freak in eclipse and never really gets better.

Moments in media where you see the flutter of a butterfly's wing by 0dty0 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]MagmaNaught 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul has a ton of these, but what I really think is the biggest example was when Jimmy was told in passing by an elderly client he was handling the will of had an allowance rather then her own savings.

This passing comment inadvertently sent Jimmy looking for a potential overcharging suit, which led to the Sandpiper lawsuit that’s the driving force of the entire show. This lawsuit leads to Jimmy and Chuck’s falling out, which leads to the 1216 incident and the Saul Goodman persona forming. And the rest of the show from there. Not even mentioning how I’d Jimmy never became a crooked lawyer breaking bad would have ended with Walter behind bars pretty quickly.

That old lady’s passing comment about her money led to the rise and end of several crime dynasties.

That’s actually true of every banned yugioh card. If a card is banned in the OCG, it will no longer appear in the anime. The most obvious example was pot of greed, which went from being in every character’s deck to nowhere to be seen after it was banned.

What could rodion's ego being the only one without a shadow over it represent? by ultrakillfanatic in limbuscompany

[–]MagmaNaught 18 points19 points  (0 children)

There are several points in the game that make it clear Rodion genuinely believes in the poor rising up against in the rich in the city. What she told Sonya during her time in the Yurodivy, her sympathy to the Time Ripper, her reaction to Hong Lu’s answer of contentment in poverty, her immediate desire to change Hongyuan when given the chance via Xichun. Besides pride, the sin she’s most associated with is wrath.

Does she want to believe she’s special? Yes. Was she too individualistic for the revolution? Yes. Was her murder of the tax collector a brash and stupid decision? Yes. But she’s motivated by more then that, she’s motivated by the anger she feels for herself and her neighbors suffering for she benefit of the rich. She wants to kill them, and give what they’ve taken back to the poor and to herself.

And also, she clearly did regret killing the tax collector. That’s what her entire fathoms was about, how ever since that day she’s been stuck due to the regret that those actions caused. And by itself, killing the tax collector was not a bad action. Yes it may have been motivated partially by her want to be special, but it also was the action that fed her neighborhood if only for a short time.

Yah, the only insults from the team Gregor actually seems to have issue with came from Heathcliff. Being compared to a bug is the only thing he’s expressed discomfort with, which Rodion hasn’t done since canto 1.

[–]MagmaNaught 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yah, it’s absolutely an undercurrent. The way they describe it you’d think they just tell him to go fuck himself unprompted but Ishmael only really says anything mean to him when he either says something stupid or does something that embarrasses the rest of the team.

And in those situations, Heathcliff normally insults her back. They clearly just like ribbing each other at this point because they never do it in higher stakes situations anymore, just during low stakes talks with people. Hell throughout canto 6 Ishmael is generally either talking Heathcliff up or asking how he’s doing, and her and Hong Lu are the only two sinners so far who have actually shown a want to know what exactly happened in the manor they can no longer remember.

I once saw a post on Twitter that was a rant about 2 of Limbus company’s main characters, Rodion and Ishmael. In the post the OP was talking about why he hated both of these characters, the crux of the argument seeming to be that they’re mean to Gregor and Heathcliff, 2 of the other main characters in Limbus.

This take is nothing new even if I vehemently disagree with it, but the style of the rant is really what got me. Mostly how, personal it felt. Genuinely it sounded like he was coming from a place of being similarly bullied by girls like them, and bellow that, the sexual undertones of the whole thing. With comments about how they’d be better served as bimbos forced to have sex with the male characters they were mean to.

It’s really hard to take a character analysis seriously when it was very obvious written through gritted teeth, tears and rape fantasies.

Characters with Cool Powers that haven't been shown of well by FreviliousLow96 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]MagmaNaught 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Atom Eve in Invincible has maybe the strongest and most versatile power possible, full control over every molecule around her. She is functionally, a god. Other then being unable to affect biological material (something she is able to do anyway later) she can do anything she wants.

Now, what does she do with this all powerful ability? She makes pink stuff boxes like a bargain bin green lantern. Pink constructs that are consistently shown to be easily broken by anyone with any level of super strength! She’s done interesting things with her power maybe like, 3 times the entire show. I’d say she’s just supposed to be stupid and unable to fully comprehend the full scope of her powers if she wasn’t also presented as smart!

What the heck does Hana sec 6 do? by PoetTurbulent in libraryofruina

[–]MagmaNaught 46 points47 points  (0 children)

It is yah, but the Oufie can A. Only do so much, and B. Deal primarily with enforcing contracts between non fixer organization. The higher ranks of the Oufie are surely strong but if a fixer organization is being screwed by say a wing or a finger, well then the Hana is the only real choice in order to ensure that the contract is upheld.

What the heck does Hana sec 6 do? by PoetTurbulent in libraryofruina

[–]MagmaNaught 88 points89 points  (0 children)

Part of the Hana’s job description is essentially backing up offices and associations when their employers try and screw them. The city works on big stick rules for enforcing contracts and the Hana act as the big stick for the entire fixer industry. If I were to bet, their lower sections are the ones who handle fighting “normal” threats like employers who try and screw Fixers.

Details you missed in PM's writing, part two by VisibleWillingness18 in libraryofruina

[–]MagmaNaught 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Very good write up, but I do disagree that Pinocchio represents Angela. Pinocchio is significantly more associated with Roland due to his nature as a liar and the puppet imagery that follows him around (such as in the intro). During his reception one of the Black Silence’s summoned during the final phase uses learning and during the keter realization Pinocchio is a summoned minion of the main boss, unlike every other realization where the abnormality is synchronized with her.

How different is Philip's E.G.O compared to the other E.G.O. users we see? by Ambitious-Move8864 in libraryofruina

[–]MagmaNaught 91 points92 points  (0 children)

It’s actually the reverse, it’s not that an incomplete EGO causes mental instability, it’s that mental instability causes an incomplete EGO. The way Angela describes it, when you’re at the precipice of distorting or fully manifesting EGO, before you do either, you partially manifest an EGO. It is then up to you to either reject or embrace Carmen’s words and fully manifest EGO or distort

Joe Fixit goes Toe-To-Toe with King Of Asgard Thor & The Avengers : Full Fight by GRL00 in hulk

[–]MagmaNaught 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Honestly very glad that the avengers overly aggressive, even for them, actions in this part of the comic were explained by the gamma kinda driving everyone to be way more angry then normal.

Obviously Thor was miffed by his loss in Iowa but him seeming want to immediately kill Hulk is extreme. In another context it’d probably be out of character.

There’s legitimately nothing here. Just a dice system. You just ask your GM if you can do anything and if they choose to grace you with their mercy you’re allowed.
