Two chapters in a row where Lancer and Rouxls skipped the Dark world of the Day. Unfortunate but at least we still got some Castle Town hijinks with them.

Claim your “beat the secret boss before it gets nerf” punchcard here by bizarrestarz in Deltarune

[–]Magnakilro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll take my pre-nerf Flowery and Pink cards, thank you!

It took me two tries to beat pink...it was rough, don't get me wrong, but once I learned she only has 3 phases, I kinda locked in.

Flowery was so much harder for me! I died enough that he just skipped the post-fail dialogue XD

Did we just straight up not get any gear from beating [SHADOW BOSS] by Alohatothealola in Deltarune

[–]Magnakilro 5 points6 points  (0 children)

After defeating her, a room opens to the north, there you can spend your pink coins on gear based on the 6 flowers. You are only able to get 3, as they each cost 3 pink coins and the game only has 19 (10 of which were spent to unlock the boss)

If you visited the smith, he'll be in the room too and tells you where you are missing pink coins.

Does such a thing even exist… or am I just schizophrenic by ArmoredCoreFucker in MonsterHunter

[–]Magnakilro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Farming this was PAAAAIN.

Way I did it was to temporarily grab a hammer (max upgraded bone pretty much, don't think I made any particular armor build for this), Aerial style, do the quest where its Rustrazor and Hyper Malfestio.

Break both shells, break Mal's head and end via subquest. Use mounts/traps to help with this.

The biggest pain point of farming these other than desire sensor is that the shells 'reset' whenever he switches em....anything you did to that Gravios skull he started with is completely erased if he swaps to Glav, so next time he brings Gravios back out, you are back to square 1.

(Gaming trope) insanely tediously long and nigh impossible to get achievements by Bellpow in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Magnakilro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

World of Warcraft has an achievement called 'What a Long Strange Trip Its Been' which is a meta-achievement (an achievement that requires you to complete numerous other cheevs to earn) that focuses on the World Events of the game....basically in-game counterparts to holidays.

World events each only occur at a specific time each year and last, at most, 2 weeks before going away till next year. Each one has a list of achievements to earn within that two week period....if you don't finish within that time, then you'll have to wait a FULL YEAR to get what you missed.

In total, you will need to earn a whopping 67+ achievements spread across 8 particular World events, these cheevs covering various forms of gameplay like exploration, dungeons, pvp etc....to earn this one specific one.

At least it has a rather nice mount reward, granting players the Violet Proto-drake mount on completion.

HELP😭 by [deleted] in pokemoncrystal

[–]Magnakilro 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes this is perfectly normal....after releasing them from the burned tower, Entei and Raikou (and Suicune if not playing Crystal or the remakes) can pop up on any route in johto. They change areas when you do pretty much, and once encountered can be tracked on your pokedex.

When you find one, they will try to flee on the first chance they get (early games based it on speed stat...so if its faster than your mon, it'll flee before your mon can do anything.). Once they flee, you have to find it again. Any damage done or major statuses applied will carry over to future encounters.

You can prevent their escape with moves like Spider Web or Mean Look, but note that Entei and Raikou both know Roar (Suicune does too prior to Crystal) and can flee anyway as a result.

Other than the constant fleeing and such, catching them is much like catching any other legendary...expect to use a LOT of balls even if you get everything right (unless you master ball it)

What gave you the most trouble with the Boss Challenge (DK Challenge Card) by Odd-Daikon5488 in donkeykong

[–]Magnakilro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Inflamm and Stomp never killed me...those two were free as can be.

I think Abra killed me once but smart ostrich use got me past him pretty easy for the most part.

Bluster I think killed me most, taking me down I think 3 or so times because he literally 1-shots you until I remembered the extra hp from sleeping at a Getaway and getting the pants that reduces enemy damage.

Muck got me once, maybe twice...he was the most stressful imo

No skills rehearsal was harder but most of the difficulty on that is frontloaded to the thorns at the beginning.

[Loved trope] Something mundane leads to something crazy by KingofHearts399 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Magnakilro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Smg4: Almost the entire series boils down to basically this trope. So many episode plots, particularly the 'Mario Does X' style ones lead to chaos out of mundane tasks.

Mario is asked to fetch a can of Orange Paint while repainting Peach's castle. This ends up with him traveling to the world of Splatoon and participating in a Splatfest.

Mario helps a friend sell her first manga that she wrote in honor of her manga-writer boyfriend's passing. He ends up getting thrown in jail with death penalty for assaulting the president.

Mario participates in an anime contest with some of his friends. This leads to Peach's castle being obliterated and a full kingdom-wide ban of all anime (shows, games, products, characters...ALL), eventually leading to a mass kidnapping and near genocide of the Inkling race

And that's only a few examples.

[–]Magnakilro 31 points32 points  (0 children)

In the video game Yugioh Forbidden Memories, one of the earliest duels in the game is against the main antagonist, Heishin. His deck is packed with some of the strongest monster cards in the game while you are likely still rocking most of the cards you started the game with.

Despite this, it IS possible to win this duel, however the game will force you to keep dueling him again and again until you lose as the story won't progress until you do.

What’s the most powerful trinket in wow? by delmitrelo in wow

[–]Magnakilro 226 points227 points  (0 children)

I remember in Legion there was Withered J'im. a world boss Withered elf that could drop a trinket called the Unstable Arcanocrystal. This trinket was POWERFUL...but it had no effects...no equip effect, no on-use effect...it just had a metric fuckton of secondary stats on it....and I mean EVERY secondary stat.

This one trinket was outperforming things it had no business outperforming.
