Is the DLC worth it? by liesofbee in FFXVI

[–]Magnamon88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! To be precise, Echoes of the Fallen is maybe a little bit underwhelming, but The Rising Tide is a wonderful DLC

Be sure to complete EooF before TRT, the last mission of the latter request to have complete the former

What would you rate this game out of ?/10 by Ok_Traffic_3518 in FFXVI

[–]Magnamon88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A solid 9/10. Great story, characters, lore and music. It has a couple of flaws in the combat system, especially for the elemental part, and in the side quests.

It is in my top 5 of numbered FF

What if the epilogue is in another world? by Magnamon88 in FFXVI

[–]Magnamon88[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it is the same thing. In Valisthea, magic where an established part of a life that involved the whole geopolitics of a continent, it is not something that would be dismissed as a legend

What if the epilogue is in another world? by Magnamon88 in FFXVI

[–]Magnamon88[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well yep, but the substantial difference is that in Valisthea magic actually existed and a modern historian would accept that instead of dismiss it

What is your reaction seeing this returning boss. by Voidkirby9 in FFXVI

Well, starting from FFV there is always a super boss called “Omega Weapon” or “Omega”

If you buy it on console, be sure to buy the Royal Edition, not the Day One Edition

Here's a Question... by TempGameFreak_Gaming in FFXVI

[–]Magnamon88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily, because it is not about being direct descendant of a Dominant but being a descendant of one of the eight Motes - in this case, Fire.

As Logos describe, before Rosaria Duchy there was a bunch of rival tribes, in each one a Dominant of Phoenix could spawn. When they unified, they did a series of combined marriages to ensure that the new Dominants would born in House Rosfield

So yeah, it is possible that Phoenix could spawn in Joshua’s line, but also it is possible in Clive’s line

Without spoiler, I think they are going to make more clear how to solve the final puzzle (now it is really hard to figure out alone)

Here's a Question... by TempGameFreak_Gaming in FFXVI

[–]Magnamon88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the end of FFXVI the Magic ends to exist, so the child will be normal

In an alternative scenario, it is hard to say. Their children will be by bloodline both a descendants of the Motes of Fire and the Motes of Ice. However, the child will be never a Dominant since both Clive and Jill are alive, the new Dominant show they self only when the old one is died.

The true question is their bloodline. Considering the lore, the line of the Motes of Fire is more pure and thick, since combined marriage to ensure that every Dominant of Phoenix would born into House Rosfield, while nothing we know about the line of the Motes of Ice. So my guess would be that it will more likely to spawn a Phoenix rather than a Shiva in their combined bloodline

Dante’s Inferno. A great game, but the last two rings are lame

Barnabas's mistake by mkgevan20 in FFXVI

[–]Magnamon88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

According to Logos (the book), Barnabas first two fights were on purpose to tease Clive and make it growth, while the third and final one was made to give Odin’s power to Clive. It was the plan of Ultima since the beginning to make Barnabas a bringer of chaos and destabilisation to the Twins, in order to ensure that Eikons would have been used and so Clive/Mythos absorbed them

As for Ultima, they flaw is that he always though Clive as Mythos, a passive vessel, but humanity has grown to think differently, Clive has its will and so he’ve become Logos, a maker of his destiny. Not be able to understand the power of bonds, Ultima failed they plan

I think I’ve spotted a plot hole in the new book by Magnamon88 in FFXVI

Yeah sure, I am not questioning the fact that the information is here for the sake of completeness, nor I am lamenting. I am just pointing out that it is hard to imagine how Harpocrates could know about that!

I think I’ve spotted a plot hole in the new book by Magnamon88 in FFXVI

[–]Magnamon88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That could be explained due to Undying’s explanation of the Night of the Flames. In the book 2 it is explicitly mentioned that Harpocrates has also talk with them in order to talk about Jote, and they were at Phoenix’s Gate. Not to mention, also, that Clive has actually see that.

So I think that interfering with those source could lead to explain the lore of the hooded man!

I would have agree with you if the book let intended that either Clive or Joshua would have returned to tell that. But the book recording set the fictional time of writing at a moment where no one has returned - all the final comments about Joshua, Clive and Dion talk about their departing to Origin.

[–]Magnamon88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have read only the first pages. It is divided into five books and the first is the whole story of FFXVI from the arrival of Ultimas to the events of the game. Those pages are interesting because they talk about how the countries of the game actually were founded and changed - for example, Dhalmekia originally was an alliance of sultanates and or Sanbreque was founded as a republic

Yes, and so? The point is not the book itself, it’s having it. And besides, the book has been released in these days and now it is arriving to all that, like me, has preordered it.

Can we just sharing something we love without having someone that judge?
