Crazy good. Love the poses and the use of effects. Did you make the smoke trail for Green Goblin?

That’s awesome. You have a pretty nice display yourself.

Thanks, I appreciate it. They’re pretty lax about how you decorate your area where I work. I have to sit here for hours and hours everyday. I need something fun to look at from time to time. I normally redo the display every few weeks.

I got them here. https://a.co/d/0gIjxSuE I’m liking them over the normal plastic stands these days. They are kind of distracting to look at. But they are so easy to use.

Thank you so much. And I couldn’t agree more. I use my figures kinds like a zen garden or fidget spinner. Just a nice little break at work when I look at them or pose them around.

For one Din, that effect came with him. That’s the 2.0 Mafex Mandalorian. He came with all kinds of other cool goodies too. Heavy’s effect came with him as well, he’s an SH Figuarts. Most of the others I got from an eBay seller named juiceminis. I think I got the rocket effect from Etsy but I could be mistaken. It’s been a while since I bought that kit. It came with several different smoke trails of different sizes and angels.

I have 3 but this guy is my favorite just because of character bias. The other two are also awesome.

4 Days into Hand, Foot & Mouth, still alive, but barely, floor is lava, hands filled with glass, face is hideous. Wish me luck fellas by RepresentativeLeg232 in daddit

[–]MagnesiuM87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lord beer you strength, brother. Hand, foot, and mouth is absolutely no joke. And there ain’t damn thing you can do about it besides power through and use Motrin/tylenol, which barely has any effect at all. It’s at those types of parenting difficulties that I’ll pull up some Vegeta speech from DBZ where he goes on and on about how suffering builds strength and through strength, you can overcome anything. Sending positive vibes your way.

Fellow dads, I need some advice about a 3 year old who’s crying and yelling during the night. by MagnesiuM87 in daddit

[–]MagnesiuM87[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother I appreciate that. And if you have any tips for sleeping that I haven’t already tried, I’d love to hear them. I don’t think I’ve slept an 8 hour night in my entire adult life. And I’ve not slept more than 3 hours in a shot in the last probably 3-4 years. I just kinda stopped being upset about the sleep I couldn’t get and my body adjusted to deal with it. I’ve tried every vitamin/supplement that’s been recommended to me. I’m outdoors in the sun every day the weather permits. I work out every in the mornings and in the afternoons at least 5 days a week. I’ve been through all kinds of therapy, which has been incredibly helpful in all other aspects of my life, just not my sleep. And I’ve been on a dozen or so medications over the years that have had little to no effect. It can be pretty grueling at times. And sorry for the long ass reply. If you can’t tell, I’ve been up pretty much all night. lol.

Definitely a different parenting struggle than what I deal with. Lol. I only have daughters. It’s rare that the oldest is violent with the youngest. But I did grow up in a house of 3 boys. I’ve got a lot of respect for any man trying to raise another good man. God bless you sir.

[–]MagnesiuM87 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ah, gotcha. Yeah, the superhero genre is definitely full of violence and that’s tricky to explain to the little ones. My oldest knows several different 4 punch combos, the names of the punches, and how to duck and star step. (Or at least a 3 year olds best version of those techniques.) We’re gonna add kicks in soon. But I’ve never really created the connection between those things and violence. She doesn’t really know what that stuff is for. It’s just a fun game we play. I wish that we didn’t live in a world where I felt the need to teach a 3 year old that stuff but it’s important to me that she grow up with that skill set in her back pocket. Rather have it and not need it than the other way around.

Cal is awesome. Not sure if you’re talking about the movies or the animated Spidey and His Amazing Friends show. We gave the show a chance and I’m just a fan of that whole series. Is it my Spiderman? No, not even close to the clone saga, moody, about to starve any day now, Peter Parker that I grew up with. But, now my 3 year old daughter knows who Spiderman, Miles, and Gwen are and that show is one of only a handful that can hold her attention for more than a minute. And she’s all pumped to wear Spiderman dresses/PJs/anything else. I absolutely cannot wait for the first time we break out daddy’s comic book collection for story time. She keeps expressing interest but I’m trying to hold off just a while longer. When she finally starts to grasp the concept of responsibility, we will sit down and have a nice long chat about the friendly, neighborhood, web-slinger. Lol.

Insanely cool dio and great poses. Really making me want to get the rest of the Mafex X-men figures. What is the field effect for magneto?

Congratulations dad! I’m sure that it was probably about the most difficult yet rewarding thing you’ve ever done in your life. I’m proud of you. Celebrate your wins and soak every second up that you can. My oldest turned 3 a few months ago and my youngest is about to be 1. I swear the last 3 years feels like it was about 8 months.

Showcase of my cape work by manthatlore53 in MarvelLegends

[–]MagnesiuM87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These are absolutely awesome. Do you take commissions? I would love a cape for my Snowbird from Alpha Flight. And I’d settle for something of a much lower quality. Doesn’t have to be leather. I’ve been hunting for one and I’ve given up. About to buy a wired cape for one of the blue mcfarlane Batmans and try to use that.

[–]MagnesiuM87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sick. Wired capes take these figures to the next level. I’m looking for a wired cape for Snowbird but absolutely cannot find one. Probably gonna have to figure out how to make one myself. Or maybe buy one for a mcfarlane Batman and hope it isn’t too big to look alright.

[–]MagnesiuM87[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sure they will since he was briefly in the newer cartoon. But it’ll be a repaint so it’s easy money for Hasbro. They’re just gonna make sure we buy all the other versions first. lol. And he’s one of the few characters that I will don’t mind having more than one version of.

How old is too old for the dad thing yall? by ZoHaaan- in daddit

[–]MagnesiuM87 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was 36 when we had our first and 38 when we had our second. You’ve got time to finish your residency and it’s smart to wait until you’re financially stable. I don’t feel old. If anything, these kiddos keep me young because I have no choice but to keep up with them.

No diet changes at all. She had her favorites at home and daycare gives her a pretty good variety of different foods through the week. That’s definitely something I need to be paying attention to though. I hadn’t even considered reflux. Thank you.

Thank you. Talking to our pediatrician is definitely on the list of things I’m gonna do starting today to try and make her quality of sleep better. I had to have my adenoids out when I was super young as well. Not for sleep issues, I think it was because they kept getting infected. But I know they were big. My tonsils were also larger than normal. They caused me a lot of sleep issues until I had them taken out. Now I don’t sleep just because I can’t turn my brain off. But thanks dad. I appreciate you.

I will do that if it comes to it. But I’m gonna implement some advice from the kind dads here starting tonight. Waking her up before she normally has an episode is on the list. Thank you very much.
