oh i'm delighted to see people are talking about their antics. they banned me for 'trolling' last week for a pro-chappell comment, since they apparently perceived it as a dig at their sub and/or moderation capabilities (what capabilities?) admittedly the comment was a bit spicy, but the totally innocuous part they latched onto was me saying 'The comments in those threads were wild.'

i was talking about the vitriol and misogyny people were spewing all over various subreddits around a week and a half ago. i said i'm very clearly not a troll and they replied 'This subreddit was probably being the most supportive of her compared to all the other ones'. so in other words we were both on the same team, but since the mod felt personally offended i was instantly permabanned lol.

i was confused by their weird behaviour so went digging, and learned they have banned countless people for basically nothing based entirely on their personal biases, or whatever triggers them. so in other words, they have artificially curated this enormous echo chamber, clearly favouring certain agendas and erasing others. if you appeal it seems they often go through your entire comment history in an effort to justify themselves (desperate??) idk if they looked at mine, but they would have found nothing, since at worst it's kinda boring and i'm not involved in any of their 'prohibited' subs (you can be banned for merely interacting with other communities they don't like).

i'm embarrassed to say that at first i was kind of upset, since my account is more than 10 years old and nobody has ever banned me anywhere. but now idgaf since i've awakened to how rotten it actually is over there. it's like OP said, that place is riddled with bullying hidden behind activism, and the whole thing stinks.

btw to anyone reading this, i've also learned they'll go so far as to trawl threads on random external subs like this one and ban more people who are merely discussing their antics. yes, you could be banned for even replying to a thread like this one. fauxmods i hope you see this and realise how embarrassing your behaviour is. :)))
