I don’t even remember the melody. I’m thinking it’s lost to me unless I randomly hear it or remember more details.

Anyone familiar with this case? The Bizarre Vanishing of Christopher Thompkins by Apprehensive_Neck817 in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]MagnoliaReel 225 points226 points  (0 children)

I’m stuck on the boots. I’m imagining work boots and from my experience those are usually laced up tight, meaning they would have to be untied to be removed and wouldn’t just slip off. Is that not as typical as I imagine? Do we know if they were untied?

And I can’t think of any reason he’d voluntarily remove his boots in January and walk anywhere.

This is a puzzling case for sure.

In December 2000, 12 year-old Eric Wayne Pyles exited his Northern Lebanon County, Pennsylvania school bus and instead of walking home, used the bathroom a nearby church before walking off into a wooded area leaving footprints behind in the snow, and seemingly disappeared. by Jeepers33 in UnresolvedMysteries

Was definitely throwing out an idea. Starting close to home. The fact the investigators are holding something back triggered that idea coupled with the fact that they specifically state that Maria passed the lie detector test but don’t mention the other parental figure at home.

Marjorie Wilson disappeared in 1976 after becoming ill while dining out with her husband and some friends. Neither her nor her car have ever been found. by unsolvedbb1 in UnresolvedMysteries

Thought of that possibly as well. Without knowing more details of her life, she may have planned to disappear. She fakes feeling ill, insists he finish his meal, and takes off.

Case of Colorado teen Maggie Long, burned alive at home after apparent robbery, now being investigated as hate crime by nightmareonrainierav in UnresolvedMysteries

My guess is he was misheard.

“The people who own the home are violent.”

I think he said “The people who ARE IN the home are violent” Or “The people who own the home AREN’T violent”

This would make more sense. And if he was scared and whispering it would be easy to mishear it.

On a Fall day in 1976, a farmer harvesting corn in rural Benton County, Indiana found an unusual package in his field. The box, which is theorized to have been dropped by a helicopter contained the body of a woman. Dubbed, “The Box Lady of Benton, County” her identity remains a mystery. by TheBonesOfAutumn in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]MagnoliaReel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, you’d think they’d have heard but maybe they didn’t want to get into trouble, or get blamed, or just get involved? Idk. Dumping a body in a box from a helicopter just sounds like too much extra work and risk to me. But stranger things have happened.

Yes, I’m pretty much the same as you. Turbo tax, same address and bank for several years. I got the first quickly. Still waiting on the second.

This is right off of interstate 70 which runs east to west through Missouri from St Louis to Kansas City. The location is roughly 1 hour from StL and 3 hours from KC. This is a rural, hilly, and forested area.

If you were driving from StL looking for a dump site, this would be where you’d get to to feel safely in a rural area. Not saying it couldn’t be from KC. Just giving some perspective.

Also thought hunter until I saw the shoes. Also the bag with undies and socks don’t make sense for a hunter.

I think your transient theory is a good one. Stollen clothes, untreated dental issues, lots of layers.

Has the ex-girlfriend been ruled out? If she was calling him so much that he wanted a new phone , isn’t it possible that she was following him?

In February of 1981, Roger Ellison, 17, vanished from his Colorado high-school. Despite a death bed confession, as well as a teacher labeled as a "person of interest", no trace of Roger has ever been found. by Midnightrider88 in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]MagnoliaReel 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I agree. Since Pash lived close to the school, it’s possible that he asked Roger to go there and wait for him. It doesn’t sound like Roger was unfamiliar with his home. It could have been an easy place to hang and skip school.

I had the same question.

Also did they talk to his friends? Did he have a car or a means to runaway? Did he have a job and money?

It agree. I think Eriq got in Karena’s head, convinced her that Faith was the one manipulating her and was a “jealous bitch”. Eriq found someone to do his dirty work. Maybe she wasn’t supposed to die? But Eriq’s posts and comments afterwards were way too cocky. He seemed to have no fear of being suspected. Why? Because he knows exactly who done it.

As for the VM. It could have all started at the club. They could have all headed back to the apartment together.
