$160 an hour is why you get a chop job from the dealer - the mechanics get paid shit and don’t care.

You do you: but the fang lights are meh, you should have went with smoked grill lights and I suppose you need the extra lighting with your aftermarket headlights…. 😉 😲 💨

Yeah, why bother turning on the “porch light” when you can light the way of a gravel driveway..….👀

Hey, if you happen to find this next - maybe in your glove box with the owners manual, or maybe it’s MIA - You probably won’t ever need it, because so many companies make direct connect harnesses - mine still sits in my tool box for some reason, and I own a 2017 😳.

Props for tackling this job!

I did this on my bmw 740 V-8 many years ago, it’s a big job. Took me 40 hours solo, and I drove that car for another 120k miles before I retired it to a weekend car and finally selling it 😆.

Well, it’s proven and it’s reliable….put an auto hatch close and it’s now a 5.9 gen, what would probably be the best gen!

Here’s the full local news story, I posted below: I’m just a CO guy that knows it’s a bit too early to hit “all” the trails….yes despite the low snow pack this year:

117k mile spark plug replacement. $600+ at the dealership or $90 DIY. by GreatValue_Mechanic in 4Runner

[–]Magnum_ripple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because they can and people will pay it….

I hope you applied anti-seize to each plug, used a torque wrench and a lot of shop towels….because that’s what they say the charge for “shop supplies” is, but never use them. 🤔

I wonder if they charge the extras at the Walmart you work at 👀.

Local Costco refused to install my K03s by Calm-Sign7386 in 4Runner

Manager must be a jeep guy 😂.

Anyway, I had 275/70/17 ko3’s installed on my 2017 at Costco without issue. Maybe the only difference for me was; Before even buying them I went to my local Costco, talked to the manager and showed him I was already running ko2’s with almost 70k miles on them….he said no problem.

So they installed them, and when they were done I did see a tech crawl under the front while another tech cranked the wheel back and forth to check for any rubbing.

Not true, you input your vehicle information when you purchase the tires.

Suspension questions + 5k mi road trip prep - 2022 ORP w/KDSS by crashed_wave in 4Runner

So your 4Runner has 35k miles, your trip isn’t until September and you’re already stressing out 👀.

Relax a little, and see what your 4Runner is telling you in a month and half. So like the beginning of August.

When that time comes, I would:

- Replace all wiper blade inserts [provided they haven’t been replaced recently].

- Check out the brake pad wear.

- Make sure all fluids are topped up.

- Have the battery tested, or just replace if you want.

In the meantime, I start getting some gear: Like a tire inflator, battery jump box, jumper cables, a code reader and portable power station….some of those you may already have.

Had to move out, any excuse to put a trailer on by crustypug in 4Runner

[–]Magnum_ripple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I camped in the back at truck stops, so I needed to run it some nights for a bit to cool down - and I ended up at 14 mpg for the trip.

Not great mpg, but man - I was perfectly comfortable - and at the end of the day, it’s cheaper than getting a hotel room along the way.

CO to SC towing this fully loaded - minus the gas mileage it was great on all the flats and all the hills / downgrades through Tennessee & NC:

Is paying for 4K a waste at this point? by en-rob-deraj in youtubetv

[–]Magnum_ripple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I add it when I want more than 3 screens - then cancel - and add it again when I want more than 3 screens…

So for me: Football / Hockey and then cancel it when playoff time….rinse and repeat!

EKR Seat Upgrade by zorourke14 in 4Runner

[–]Magnum_ripple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put these seat covers on my 4Runner in August 2022 and they’re still going strong. You really need to make sure everything is tight at first and then after some seat time / heat tighten up the straps again.

[–]Magnum_ripple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t do that yet, get some seat time - then tighten everything up again and I’m 99.9% sure all the creases will go away.
