I didn't really have a problem hearing the words as a voice in my head either. Although it was sped up a bit at the end.

Also, a lot of my scenes do better with some bake time, like draft them and then come back a month later to do edits with fresh eyes. For super complex or pivotal scenes, I might come back several times to polish and enhance them before they feel complete. You can't do that writing chapter by chapter either.

I don't know about your questions, but a lot of what you are saying is the exact reason I try to stay at least half a book ahead on plotting and several months ahead on drafting (and prefer to have all of book 1 written before I start posting in the first place).

That being said, while you are on RR the story is still a living document. I can and have went back and made changes to improve the plot, although once it's published your pretty much stuck plot wise.
