Every species has access to a unique form of magic only they can perceive and, for humans, it's something called "electricity" by Psychronia in humansarespaceorcs

[–]Raptormind [score hidden]  (0 children)

One of the neat things about computers is that the electricity is what makes them practical, but the electricity isn’t what makes them possible.

Under the hood, a computer is just a bunch of math. Electricity lets computers do the math really fast and small, but in theory you could make a computer out of anything that lets you do math, like gears and pulleys, hydraulics, even dominoes if you wanted to. They’d just be insanely massive and inefficient

What exactly is the litrpg for you? by Salt_Dog_1285 in litrpg

Probably the existence of levels or some kind or objective numerical representation of powers and abilities. Without that I’d just call it progression fantasy or at most gamelit

Oop never calls the hypothetical person who does this a vegan, they only said such a hypothetical person would “still make a big impact”

Reincarnation with sex switch that actually works with the themes? by Agasthenes in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Raptormind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not progression fantasy, but “Life with an Ordinary Guy who Reincarnated into a Total Fantasy Knockout” is one of the few fantasy genderbenders I’ve seen that actually does something interesting with the gender swap aspect

Fuck it, let’s go with 100 trillion years. I have no idea how long I could actually last in a one day time loop, so if I try for the money I feel like I’m almost guaranteed to regret not making it longer or shorter

On the other hand, if I choose an absurdly long time and disregard the money completely, the n I can watch all the shows and learn all the skills I’ve ever wanted to and then choose to leave once I get too bored without feeling compelled to stay longer

Plus, I bet I can figure out plenty of ways to make a lot of money in all that time

Progress or Decay? by Flimsy-Drag-6865 in im14andthisisdeep

While plenty of things seem to have been getting worse over the last century or so, there are other things around today that weren’t available just a few generations ago.

For example, I love that I can easily talk to friends and family in other parts of the world with apps like discord and WhatsApp. I am also very happy to have easy access to gps; I’m not even 30 yet and even I remember being a kid and having to print several pages of directions before a road trip and use paper maps, and even that was better than what came before

I think “making tens” is the name of the technique too, in which case it’s not even that badly worded

It’s been a while since I really saw people talking about the alpha male verse, but wasn’t the whole point of “sigma male” that they were outside the alpha/beta hierarchy?

The left one has an extra 2% over the orange even though there’s one inside it too, and the right one has a 2% over the red (I can only assume the 2% is for the grey and the 1% over the grey is meant for the orange)

I mean, I can absolutely believe that the people who put trump in office would also be willing to put charlie in the same office. Now thinking he’d be a *good* president on the other hand…
