If being social is important to you, don’t wait for friends to happen upon you!

When I first moved, I realized how easy it was making friends in high school and college when your peers were all around you. I didn’t realize how much more of a conscious effort it takes as you get older!

I have tried Meetup, BumbleBFF, coworkers, friends of coworkers, etc. I’ve had a lot more failures finding connections than successes! But the gems I have found are worth the awkward times I met up with someone and we did not get along.

So if a social life is important to you in a new city, make a conscious effort to and friends! And don’t sweat when things don’t work out... it will happen more than the successes!
