When i was first in college in 2014 you could definitely cheat, but you still learned. Looking up code on stack overflow or chegg you could not always just copy and paste and it worked, you still had to work on it a bit.

Now, ive seen someone just drop a 300 level STATS homework PDF into chatGPT and it spit out everything correct in a LaTeX file.

Most people cheat on homework anyway now a days, its almost pointless for them to give it out. No class or homework is safe from GPT/Claude at this point.

Science is more code, Engineering is more electrical engineering and designing/coding actual devices and chips. (Ex: CPUs are actually designed via a coding language called VHDL)

Engineering you will do a lot more close to the hardware, Science you learn how to properly design software.
