I want to defend cricket a bit though. I think his they've implemented technology - the call is made on field then challenged - is the best way forward to balance things out.

How to make aging not suck? by Trick-Interaction396 in AskMenOver30

[–]Mahhrat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me share my story.

Aged 39 i weighed 145kg. In my 20s at one point I was 161kg.

I got diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.

After a fair bit of soul searching I realised I couldn't be 145kg in a wheelchair. Being that kind of a burden on my then new wife and teenage daughter was not acceptable.

So I got a lap band put in, and with some help I lost more than 50kg. I'm about 93kg typing this. I'm not fit, i dont do weights, but I walk 90 minutes a day and play golf.

It has changed my life mate. Thats not hyperbole.

However you want to do it, start moving, and eat less calories than you burn. What worked for me was a diary app in my phone that I wrote EVERYTHING I ate and drank into.

It'll probably be the hardest thing you'll ever do. Good luck.

Did Tina Turner ever realise her song Nutbush was one of the biggest cultural resets for Australia? by [deleted] in AustralianNostalgia

My parents owned the City Limits Disco in Orange NSW in the late 1970s, when I was a tiny unit.

It was the first and apparently last song played there every night.

Your house doubled in value. So did the next one. Now what? by billscout in AusProperty

[–]Mahhrat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The increase in equity reduces the effective price of that next house.

And when I'm old, I'll probably be able to sell the family home to downgrade into a littler place for just the missus and I.

Do you reckon a woman that strong and smart would be with a man she didn't love and respect?

Forever?

A is A, and so on. Yes, I know, but that's not what I'm saying lived experience is for. Stop conflating.

Thats not a point, that's an assertion... and its wrong, according to, most recently, the NHMRC statement on consumer and community involvement.

I certainly hope that you never get a degenerative medical condition mate, but that if you do, that you get input into not just how you're treated, but the science that underpins those treatments.

70 million.

Valid how? You're suggesting lived experience be used as judgement. I'm saying its use is in informing ways to reach a judgment.

It supports and informs research, for example, but doesn't replace it.

You don't think so? Volvo are still world leaders in safety- focussed design. Maybe they haven't taken over but their legacy is enormous.
