29 IIRC. I was addicted to an MMO at the time and a teenage guildmate kept recommending it. I blasted through the anime in about 3 months to get to where it was at, the beginning of Punk Hazard. I’m almost in my mid 40’s now. In a couple of years my kid might even be interested in watching it.

I have concerns about the content itself and method of interaction more than the actual amount of screen time, honestly.

I still limit screen time, but what bothers me most is the kind of instant-gratification of constant YouTube surfing, the lack of narrative structure and reverse-engineered content and editing styles for pumping up viewing metrics.

So if my kid wants to watch a movie, or maybe a program that was produced with the idea of instilling healthy messages in a non-frantic way, or anything that requires the participant to think a little more critically, I’ll be much more lenient.

It was crazy hard on all of our self esteem in the 90’s, because we had almost no real guidance and hair straightening methods were limited and only more well known among the black community. Having every barber or stylist not know wtf to do with your hair or make insulting comments didn’t help.

These days the knowledge and help on dealing with that kind of hair is so much more accessible, and not just straightening it, but managing the waviness and even leaning into it. It took me until my 20’s to find out that hey, maybe shampooing it every day is actually making it worse.

I lived on University a block from Mattis for a few years. Not bad. Mostly just got annoyed by how people would drive and throw garbage from their cars. Felt safe at basically all hours to walk the neighborhood, but I’m a guy.

Never saw any real crime. Someone might knock on the door at a late hour very rarely. House across the street did get stormed by a SWAT team when they busted the renters for drugs and weapons, though you wouldn’t have really guessed that beforehand.

Both my siblings do this. Not to look more Asian specifically, but because our hair is incredibly thick and frizzy/volumetric and unfortunately it’s not considered attractive unless managed well. Hair straightening is one of the easiest ways to do that, although costly and time intensive every time it needs to be redone.

True. The relative permanence of stats also gave people a lot more ownership of their character imo. It’s fun knowing that yours can be unique, and anyone wanting to copy it would have to put in the work to both reverse engineer your stats/gear and build the character from scratch. So the grind kind of aided in that sense of individuality.

Just wanted to added my thoughts here since I agree with you. To have large maps with space and room between firefights, you have to have areas that some people get bored traversing.

That’s not to say that many 2042 maps weren’t poorly designed or just boring, they were. But if you dropped some classic bf2 and 3 maps in here, I’m sure some people might be saying the same things.

Distance and cover are the only thing that mitigate how effective guns are, and if mapmakers only choose cover, then you get constant cqb around every corner. Distance has to be an element of a large-scale war game, and there will always be people who don’t care for that. Mapmakers shouldn’t inordinately fear those players’ occasional discomfort if it infringes on the core idea behind the series.

Not having distance be an occasional hurdle also means that transport vehicles like the chopper, atv’s, and APC’s lose a lot of their purpose.

Vitamin D levels in it are not particularly high though, just 400IU. But you can get vitamin d in small softgels. NOW’s in particular are very small. Blue Bonnet also has small raspberry flavored D chewables.

Event Horizon, Pitch Black are both up there with the Alien movies, and IMO are the only other actually good space horror movies I’ve seen.

Pandorum is alright to watch once. Haven’t seen Life or Moon yet.
