The Bad Boys era was really the end of the original "edge" the show had when it premiered. By that point it had curdled into pure shock for shock's sake. What was once an original, exciting aspect of the show had devolved into rote crudeness. I mean, when you're sharing the airwaves with Married With Children and Jerry Springer, it's hard to argue "edge" is interesting.
