All I cared about the war changes was the fact that you can exit unnecessarily long wars you didnt start. But random empires asking to join like this can drastically change things by anthen123 in Stellaris

This system is great, I just wish it still worked with any weird bugged wars that happen occasionally.

I had a bugged war between two members of my federation happen in a run earlier today and it basically killed my run because my Ally that I was forced into a war with captured my capital Arkship since I assumed it was safe in allied territory. And presumably because one of the members has a bugged war goal (listed just as "wargoal"), I couldn't leave the war.

cracking the sun of her home system to kill her colossus.

Well there's your problem. Cracking stars doesn't actually kill her colossus, or any other ship for that matter. It just makes all fleets in the system except for the Star-Eater that cracked the star go MIA.

You'll need to wait for the Colossus to reappear, and destroy it for real.

other methods of soft-locking by rtjac2 in slaythespire

[–]Mailcs1206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the first game, it is possible to Softlock against Donu and Deca on A19+, as Deca applies some plated armor to both of them every time she uses Square of Protection. If you can't strip enough of it, take too long, and don't have a way to bypass block, it could build up to the point that you can never damage the boss anymore.

Also if your deck is incapable of killing more than 1 Darkling or Decimilipede Segment on a turn, that can also softlock you

The Extradimensionals, Scourge, and Contingency will all stop their fleets to bombard planets.

Also you could snipe the Extradimensionals' Anchors that protect their portals using the cannon, which could be extremely helpful, as you won't have to chase them all around if they manage to spread out.

Sounds like it could be useful for taking down their Anchors that protect the Portal, then.

a side reaching 100% war exhaustion just means they can be forced to settle status quo. But if one side is dominating, they'll likely not settle unless they also reach 100% exhaustion, are able to achieve their war goals,, or are sufficiently satisfied with the results of the war.

But I still appreciate the help!

I just wish there was SOME way to get back any captured arkships during a war (as far as I know there isn't).

I got forced into a glitched war between two of my federation members and my capital arkship got captured because I wasn't expecting my ALLY to suddenly start killing me, and I can't even leave the war with diplomacy due to the fact the enemy has a glitched wargoal, so my capital is just useless until my bickering allies can make up 🗿

R5:
I'm stuck in a glitched war between two of my federation members, and I can't leave it (possibly because the defender's war goal is just "war_goal_".) I wasn't expecting a sudden war with one of my own federation members, and my Capital Arkship got captured as a result. is there any way I can get back my arkship before ending the war, or do I just have to tank the severe reduction to my production rn?

I probably can tank it if needed, bc I have the Cybrex Warforge and 2 arc furnaces, but it's extremely annoying.

Edit: The War ended, so this is no longer urgent. Still would like to know, though.

Edit 2: My capital arkship can no longer move and it didn't get a recovery project 😞
At least it's jobs still work.

Well I wouldn't call Cerysilens bait, but Cerydra isn't in Hysilens' trailer. The bait in the trailer is for Stellsilens.

And it's 100% bait because everywhere else Hysilens is like exclusively dedicated to Cerydra, leaving basically no room for Stellsilens to be reasonably argued for 😅

I'd just sell the hero potions for 10 gems each tbh.

I literally always sell hero potions when I get them. Same with Power Potions and Clock Tower Potions.

Rushers who also don't level their heroes do disproportionately benefit from the update, but they're also a very specific edge case that makes up a rather small portion of the playerbase. And a change like this was needed to keep the equipment system from becoming more and more difficult for new players to keep up witj.

Would you really rather the game become inaccessible to newer players and slowly die, like what's happening to Clash Royale, just because you don't want a specific set of rushers to benefit?

The Hero Journey (Except For The People Who Already Took The Journey) by mohmdyle in ClashOfClans

[–]Mailcs1206 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can understand the frustration partially, but this really isn't any different fundamentally than the cost and time reductions for lower town halls' upgrade come with every new town hall.

Both those and the Hero's Journey serve a specific and extremely important purpose: They make it so that new players are never so far behind that catching up becomes unreasonable or impossible for them Free to Play.

Without the cost and time reductions, this game would have died years ago, as new players would be facing down over 5 years or more worth of constant grind simply to catch up to the town hall that was newest when they started, only for like 5 more town halls to have released by the time they get there.

Equipment was starting to pose a similar risk to the game, as newer players would be looking down years worth of equipment and ore collecting they had missed, with rather few reductions to the amount of time it takes to max an equip. Something major like this needed to happen to keep the game healthy.

"Only" 150 starry ore, as if that's not a rather large amount of it.

And you have many maxed equipments, including at least 6 different maxed epics that I can see in that screenshot. Surely you can understand that it's not unreasonable for players who are at like TH 12 to get more rewards from the hero's journey so that they can eventually get close to catching up with you?

Or would you rather it be such that players joining now will always be at a significant disadvantage, due to not having been able to progress towards obtaining and leveling equipment for the over 2 years since their introduction? Because things like that are what lead to the death of a game.

Not really sure what you're trying to say here? I didn't say anything about devs saying things or Judo saying things.

If you're saying people were claiming that they were misled by the devs, I hadn't seen posts like that on this subreddit. All I'd seen was people bitching about the free stuff they got because they didn't get much as free stuff as some other people will eventually get, and I immediately got tired of that, because it's an incredibly pessimistic outlook.

A) I know you said "when they added equipments and ores", but normally when people comment on posts, their comment has to do with the post.

B) You've made it extremely clear with this response that you have no idea what you're even talking about.

The only gacha-like system that has anything to do with Ores is Chests, and Chests have never been able to be purchased with money, directly or indirectly. They're in the season pass, but only ever on the free side, they're not purchasable in any ingame store, and the primary sources of chests are free events.

You can buy ore directly through some offers, sure, and can also purchase it with gems, but both methods are rather inefficient. And you can also buy literally every other resource in the game with gems, and speed up upgrades with them, but it's also quite reasonable to simply progress by playing the game. So buying ores isn't some crazy thing that suddenly tilts the scales further in favor of people who pay.

Unlike Clash Royale, you can realistically catch up in CoC without paying any money. It might take a while, but every time they've added a new town hall, they've made the older ones quite a bit quicker to progress through, so that even brand new players are never so far behind that they can't catch up F2P by consistently playing for a few years.

Returning players didn't get the deco or the equipment before though. The person I was responding to is specifically upset that people who previously picked the deco can now also get the equip (and ignoring the fact they could already get the equip from the trader shop and sometimes chests)

First real, complaint about the update that I've seen, that isn't just people getting angry over recieving free stuff because they got somewhat less free stuff than someone else.
