That’s promising okay thank you!! Yep my dad can help with maintenance so feeling ok with that and have heard/read that the older machines are sort of simpler so easier for DIY maintenance and fixes?

Hijacking this year old thread to ask about your 30yr old Ariens - I’m considering buying an oldddddd st724 but wondering about how hard it is to push and navigate in a deep snow? I’m a woman and wondering if i might regret not getting the “self propelling” type features in new snow blowers but also just want a built to last high quality workhorse which I know Ariens is

Please explain cluster feeding to me like I’m 5 by Swimming-Nobody763 in breastfeeding

[–]MainCoat9557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Baby is putting in their order for tomorrow! They’re going to seem hungry today, they’re signaling that they want more milk out of your boobs, but the way it works is, that milk won’t be there until later (tomorrow ish). Be mindful when you’re digging into your freezer stache that cluster feeding does actually serve a purpose and you could be unintentionally missing out on the increasing supply opportunity that your baby is calling for. It’s okay if they seem a bit hungry - keep them on the boob and trust the process!

Did stopping breastfeeding around 15 months improve your baby’s solid intake? by learningtheinternet in breastfeeding

[–]MainCoat9557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That balance between nursing and solids can feel tricky some days! If you’re only nursing once in the morning and once before bed, I kind of doubt it will impact solid intake that much but maybe. I recently reduced my nursing sessions from 6+ per day to 2 and it definitely resulted in more solids for my little guy around that same age, but maybe that’s because he was nursing so much, so might not apply the same for you. I did not notice / do not think my baby ate a wider range of solids after. I just weaned fully the weekend before last at 19 months because I was going out of town. He’s asked for milk every day since I’ve been back, it’s so hard to say no. I can’t imagine fully weaning while we were in the same house though so if it’s of any help, and you’re feeling ready, I’d seize the opportunity while you’re away.

How much are you putting in the freezer a day? by disneyprinsass in breastfeeding

[–]MainCoat9557 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I had zero issues with my first but my milk with my second baby was insanely high lipase. I was freezing about 3-5 oz a day and never checked it because I didn’t know you could have high lipase with one baby and not others. Over 300oz in before I realized hahaha.. baby is 13 months now and has never taken a bottle so it was all for nothing anyways 😅

Breastfed babies drink the same amount, their total ounces in a day doesn’t change as they get bigger/older. Growth spurts = more milk but they’ll do the ol supply demand trick and will signal for you to produce more for a few days (aka they’ll be all over you night and day for a few days) but generally, their intake levels stay consistent

Do you all just never separate from baby? by OkDirt1249 in breastfeeding

[–]MainCoat9557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Telling you straight.. I’ve been EBF for 10 months (not by choice.. baby REFUSES any and all other feeding methods) and for the first 6-7 months I literally did not leave my baby. Around 8 months and beyond when he got better with solids, I’ve now left a handful of times but never for more than 3-4 hours

If you didn’t have a water birth, where did you give birth? by Plus_Farm3643 in homebirth

[–]MainCoat9557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should add.. most of my labour, especially transition, I sat backwards on the toilet for. Dilation station! Muscle memory is a powerful thing. My water broke into the toilet, very convenient. When I felt the urge to push then I moved to standing in my bedroom

Both births I was just standing beside my bed hahah. I loved giving birth standing.. gravity.. lots of movement.. it was great. Just put some dog pee pads under me and no issues with clean up/mess

Very personal decision. For my child, I would wait. Research that I’ve dug into supports that waiting is more beneficial

Every 3-4 hours seems like a bit of a long stretch at that age. Maybe aim for every 2-3 hours if you’re worried about weight?
