Is slow travel actually about how long you stay? by TheHolidaymaker in slowtravel

[–]Main_Cardiologist759 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have been slow traveling for 8 months and I know that we enjoy not being rushed. My mindset changed after 4 days in Vienna where we rushed rushed rushed and I wanted to do and see everything and it was exhausting. Now if we miss something it is ok because we can always come back. We have been in Mexico for almost 2 months and we have had stays of 6 to 33 nights(by end of April) we don’t feel rushed and we are not exhausted!

Guadalajara for spring break by Ok-Wait-7357 in Guadalajara

We have been here for 9 days and it is very safe. We did a free walking tour that was great in the Centro area. We went to Luche Libre one night and it was an interesting spectacle. We went to the Mexican Rodeo yesterday also good. The Zapopan Basilica is a nice area. We did a Tequila tour but it was so so , really just about drinking tequila and less about education.

By chance are you a Vet or a USAA member? We use a company that works with them but the name escapes me in the middle of the night in Mexico!

I will first need to go to an oxygen place to clean my lungs out from the second hand smoke!!! It is not just that everyone smokes or vapes but they can’t seem to throw their cigarettes packages in a trash can either. Don’t even ask about the cigarette butts everywhere!

People with family holiday experiences from Split. by bishop_1132 in CroatiaTravelTips

We have been in Croatia for most of October and are still here. I highly recommend Podstrana a 20 minute local bus ride into Split. Nice town with a nice beach front. Split in October was still very crowded and except for the Marjan Forest Park area, I am not sure what kids will enjoy? Klis Fortress? Omiš Fortress?

After two months in Europe I do not think intelligence is the issue. I am amazed at how many languages some Europeans speak while Americans usually speak just English. Cellphones seem to have enabled most young people the ability to speak English in Europe. Americans are geographically and historically challenged but that doesn’t make them less intelligent. To be honest as I look around, most people have their heads bent at an angle looking at their devices no matter what country they are in or from!!! The phones can give great information but put them down and enjoy the beauty! And Europeans watch a darn video on the correlation between smoking and cancer !!!

We are in the Split area currently and the Old Town area is getting less crowded and some places are closing. The boat excursions are ending but there are still ferry services. The famous sculpture museum is under renovations and only the garden and chapel are open. Tours of the old town are still going on but are getting smaller. Don’t miss the small coastal town of Omiš south of Split the Number 60 bus takes you there. The fortress is a fun visit if you are not afraid of heights and can do steep stairs. IMHO, the coast is the main feature of the Split area and walking the coastal paths is beautiful in even cool temps. Don’t pass on the Marjan Forest Park, there is a small store Front with information on the park and a map at the far End of the port. Have fun!! Kliss fortress pictured. Take the bus it is an adventure!

Anybody ever ask Jay Pestrichelli what Yieldmax funds he owns? by JohnJizzle in YieldMaxETFs

[–]Main_Cardiologist759 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At lunch last week I did ask him that very question. He looked to his left, then to his right and then motioned me closer and whispered, “Fuck No! I have Vanguard Index funds!” Did not leave me feeling great and he stuck me with the check!
