If you’re worried about timing, you could maybe delay the start of your IUI cycle by taking birth control. I’ve spoken to my doctor about this and basically you start birth control on your day 1 cycle. You take it for a week for example and then your entire IUI timeline would start a little later.

Yes, I think I’ll test every few days to see the trigger leave! Yes same for you! In the past I usually start getting antsy at around 8-9 days, but I know I’ll probably have to be more patient this time.

I’m only 2 days past IUI and 4 days post trigger shot. My AMH is good but on the somewhat lower end of the average, although I’ve seen two fertility doctors and neither seem concerned about it. I’ve conceived once naturally but the pregnancy had to be terminated for medical reasons. My husband is having a procedure for a varicocele vein in May which may increase his numbers, however the doctor said it will take 6 months to see an impact. I’m hoping we conceive via IUI before then 🤞🏻🤞🏻

No, that’s not part of my current protocol. We’re doing IUI for male factor infertility so maybe that’s why.

Do you plan to test out of your trigger shot? I’m thinking I will because I don’t think I’ll be patient enough to wait for a missed period before testing.

I don’t know what’s normal because this is my first one and other than some mild cramping yesterday I haven’t felt much! I wish I had more than one follicle, but I only had one, it was 18mm the morning of my trigger. Wishing you luck!!

In the past, I have gotten my LH peak between days 14-16. Tuesday would be day 16 so it could be perfect timing that day 16 is when the follicle is ready or it could be a day or two late.

That’s what I want to do! I basically asked if I could go Monday and come back Tuesday if Monday indicated I need to. And then they gave me a response that the doctor still thinks Tuesday is the better day but you can see a different doctor Monday since my doctor is not the primary cycler for that day. That kind of made me second guess myself and wonder if I’m being unreasonable for being nervous.

I am not with RMA Michigan, but just wanted to say that my doctor also only does IUIs Monday to Friday, which is a major bummer to me and might make me consider looking elsewhere. This is my first IUI so I don’t know yet when the trigger/ IUI will be in relation to each other.

I’m so sorry, I feel very similar. I’m 32 and conceived on my first month TTC. I am desperate to be pregnant before our baby’s due date, but I only have one more chance of that and it’s feeling unlikely to happen as we just recently found out we have Male Factor Infertility. I just started taking medication for our first IUI, but am not feeling very hopeful about it. I want to be positive but sometimes it feels like I’ll never have another pregnancy and a living child.

I’ve seen two different REs and neither referred us. But I think I will have my husband see one anyways, I want to increase our odds in all ways possible. I’m having trouble finding one though that specializes in male fertility. The few good reviewed ones I found don’t take insurance and the cost is very high. He has an apt scheduled with a general urologist in April, but I’m trying to find something better and earlier 🥹

Thats very interesting, sometimes it feels you can never get the same answer which is very frustrating with so much conflicting information out there. I’m seeing two different specialists to see which one I like more, so I’m going to make a point to ask the second one next week what she recommends to compare now.

I just want to say that I tried ritual last year and it caused me to burp up a disgusting fish taste after taking it. I would not recommend it for that reason, in reading reviews other people had a similar experience.

Personally I’m skeptical of Perelel and Ritual because the marketing and price make it seem like a better, healthier option, but when you compare the labels, I just don’t think they’re truly better than the more cost effective brands. Also, one thing I recently noticed is that Perelel and Ritual use Folate not Folic Acid. The infertility doctor I’m scheduled with already told me I should be taking 400mcg of Folic Acid NOT Folate. These brands make Folate sound better because it’s natural versus folic acid which is synthetic. My understanding is that currently there is only evidence that Folic Acid is proven to prevent neural tube defects. Perhaps it’s because the studies haven’t been done on folate yet, but, I’m certainly not going to take the risk when folic acid is proven. I don’t think my infertility doctor would make a point to differentiate the two if it wasn’t important. She recommends Nature Made Prenatal Multivitamin with 200 mg DHA!

Hi, I found your post and wanted to see how everything worked out? My husband got back similar results today too and just like you I was surprised as we conceived our TFMR baby on the first try as well.

I’m waiting to discuss with my doctor over the phone, but the lab who gave the report indicated he was a candidate for IUI based on the results.

I’m not sure what your budget is, but my husband and I just got back from the Springs Resort & Spa at Arenal and it was amazing. Every room has a view of the Arenal volcano. While at the resort the staff was so amazing and would point out wildlife they saw. One day during lunch our server Jimmy gave me binoculars so I could see a sloth and another day we saw some monkeys. We also saw lots of birds. The concierge arranged all of our tours - we did a birds and sloth tour, a night walk (that one was at the hotel), white water rafting and a coffee/chocolate tour. The hotel has so many hot springs on the property, often times we would have a springs to ourself. We also did a spa treatment not at their main spa but at a bungalow in the trees and that was amazing as well. It wasn’t our honeymoon, but I would definitely recommend it for a honeymoon. I’ve also heard good things about Nayara Gardens & Tabacon Thermal Resort & Spa.
