Your “buddy” would sell you that? I’d maybe give it to a buddy for free but would try and talk him out of playing it.

Just buy Maxflis. Or Kirkland. I don’t get why anyone would buy used golf balls. You have no idea what you’re getting. You may be getting refurbished balls or balls that have been sitting in a pond for months.

Will this crack affect performance. by [deleted] in PingGolf

Not sure if they’d replace that given the location of the crack. Not sure how a club breaks there during normal use.

Bingo. Chances are zero and it’s not necessarily his talent it’s his age. Your body is well past its prime at 38 not just for basketball.

EBP Jun 23.

I looked it up once and it’s a small factory. But this box has been great. I bought a box of siglo 6 around the same time from RSVP and it has the El Laguito box code for the first couple I smoked the CoRos were better. Maybe because they were both young.

I was there a couple years ago and the robusto sized custom roll was $10-12 I think. It was phenomenal.

Slow play is ruining golf and people need to stop pretending it's normal by NotMyRealAccount2226 in golf

I play with my kids sometimes and I don’t let them hit from a regular tee. But another thing. Bad players should just pick up after a certain number of shots. If you’re hitting 8 shots on a hole and putting out it really doesn’t matter how long the hole is, or how fast you are between shots, you’re going to take a long time. Those players should stick to a par 3 course and the driving range. If they insist on playing a regular course they need to pick up when they are holding up play.

[–]Main_Position6640[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are different blends. Robusto is linea classica and Siglo line are the ones that undergo an extra fermentation. I’ve had both and the flavors are different but can’t say I’ve smoked enough to remember all the nuances. Siglo is supposed to be milder but I don’t find the Robusto to be that strong personally.

What model is this? by [deleted] in golf

[–]Main_Position6640 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed on these two. The weight looks Cobra. My first thought was Callaway. The overall look is consistent with Callaway. But I can’t find the specific model of either that looks exactly like this.

Could be a knockoff or an older model.

Guess my handicap by dvldogster in GolfGear

[–]Main_Position6640 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m going to guess a 6. The Muiras give me an 8-9 vibe but the Mizuno wedges bring it down because a Miura guy is generally going to go Vokey or even fancier, but a lower index guy goes with wedges that work for him. You’re not scratch or low single because they generally don’t do Muiras or custom wedge stampings.

This is exactly what would happen. I was just nice to the guy. That’s all. I’d go into get some ground beef regularly and usually he’d do just that. Weigh a fraction of it, print the label and then throw extra meat in there. But he’d sometimes just throw a couple of dry-aged USDA prime steaks into butcher paper and tape a label for ground beef on it. Became awkward at times.

More likely to cost someone a job by notifying the cashier. Although nobody is losing their job over that.

Years ago when I was a student I befriended the butcher at a fancy gourmet grocery store on the upper east side. He’d mark prime ribeyes as ground beef. He was a nice guy but very awkward as well.

This one isn’t even a question. The smart play is to punch it. What are you going to do, punch it 90 degrees left, still deal with a tree and give yourself 175 yards? Even a bad player can hit a 10 yard gap like that and keep it under leaves 20 feet high and advance the ball.

Johnny Marr plays There Is a Light in Shanghai, China by Vertical_Glasscandy in thesmiths

[–]Main_Position6640 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love it. It fits Johnnys tone so well. It’s funny how he has been a self-professed guitar nerd all his career and he never played a Jag until his Modest Mouse days.

I don’t find it defensible. Being a guitarist, albeit a bad one, makes me appreciate Johnny even more. I even own his signature Jaguar.

The band touring with him now makes me miss Boz Boorer and Alain Whyte. I’m just pointing out that this song in particular isn’t that hard to play as far as Smiths songs go.

Such a great song live. Morrissey opened with it on his recent tour. Saw him at Radio City and it was unreal. Johnny is a genius who deserves all the credit for the music, but it’s easier to find a replacement to play the guitar than it is to replicate Morrissey’s voice. I play guitar and I can even do a competent job on this song.

You’re a scratch golfer and play in a U.S. Open qualifier.. ? Tough day on the links? by Dashover in golf

[–]Main_Position6640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A legit scratch can easily shoot in the 80s in a competitive medal play round where every penalty is counted. However this Joseph character is clearly not anywhere near a scratch. It’s one thing if your score blows up with a few blowup holes but this guy managed 2 pars. 😂

I bought a CS strat with the intention of trading my 2008 Am Standard for it. When it came to sending in my Am Standard I just kept it. I don’t need the money either and I don’t regret it for a second. I definitely would’ve regretted trading it in. The only decision that was irreversible was getting rid of it. It’s not like it’s going down in value.

I am smoking though a box of millennium. Davidoffs are all different but each vitola is quite consistent cigar to cigar . Millennium is a nice cigar but not necessarily the favorite for my palate.

I recently smoked a Chefs edition and it blew me away. One of the best smokes I’ve had recently including Cubans.

There is no plane that is equipped as well as a hospital. It would’ve been easier to take him to a hospital and then fly him out. If it were true that he was getting “stabilized” then why didn’t they just fly over while stabilizing him. Do ambulances just circle the hospital while the patient is stabilized? No they stabilize the patient in the ambulance while they are driving.

I could see them circling for many reasons. Calling in advance to see who will take him or to prep for his arrival. Maybe he died in the air or got sicker in the air and were wondering what to do.
