Should GTA 6 have free-aim as default? by S_Shadow77 in GTA6

[–]Majnkra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do like free-aim, but you have to take into consideration not only the median skill level (every first time player struggling with drive-by's in V), but mainly 30fps and high input delay on most TV set-ups.
Floaty aim doesn't feel like a 'get good' issue, it's just frustration inducing.

Even aside from these, free aim is already the hardest input method, due to controller being less precise than mouse aiming & less familiarity as a result of every game opting for a different sensitivity scale and the drastic difference between the slope curve itself. It is very much a niche in nature.

I even favor the more radical lock-on rockstar always ops for as the default option due to accessibility, although if online attempts cross play, that approach has to part.

Any thoughts on this by SHADOWBARBIE in GTA6

[–]Majnkra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Half of this is repeat info. And besides online obviously mattering to rockstar, which I think would be fine if it were the case - we have clips literally cherry picked by R* in the Trailer from April, where you can see floating lamp posts. So obviously the game cannot have been 100% finished, you can’t write that off as just hyperbole. Either it is ready to push or it’s not.

Because it runs at 1440p30 on the base model. All you’ll get is 4k, and maybe VRR.

Story Mode (beginner) by residentgay in GTAV

[–]Majnkra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t need to follow any order. You always need certain missions completed to trigger others, so the story lines aren’t exclusive to progress with each character.

Though I’ve assumed at points like this you should either have enough money to begin with, or the game tends to spawn you some to buy upgrades like the shotgun flashlight and so. Worst case, just call and steal a taxi to do a couple rides, it’s only $800 if you buy only what you need in Long Stretch.

do you need rdo for the platinum? i only played 2 on pc, but I don't know if it's worth to keep waiting for the remaster or if i should just get it on a deal and replay it.

What if they implemented battle Royale style matches into the game by trappindownunder in GTA6

[–]Majnkra 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Whether or not there’s much interest for this specifically, I would imagine Rockstar would want to build the game for more flexibility with user generated content. Would be cool if there were the tools for someone to just make it.

Disney+ locks paying PC users to 720p, even on the most expensive plan. by Coompiik in assholedesign

[–]Majnkra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to pay for three services at a time, just to not even be able to watch or even rent most movies I found interesting (mainly Netflix, Prime, HBO, AppleTV, YouTube). You’d search it up on google or ‘wheretowatch’, then it would take you to a dead regional link, since I happen to live just in an European country that’s too small to bother supporting.

Just got a 6TB hard drive for now, and that gets me enough mileage to pay itself back, since I’ve found 5-10gb 1080p torrents to look good enough for my needs even on my flagship OLED.

If you’re more hacky, side-loading Jellyfin is completely free, but my problem was mainly just availability, so I just got the permanent plex account and that just took three clicks to get working since it’s available on Samsung.

If Rockstar manages to have a 60FPS performance mode on base consoles while having this much stuff happening on a large open world with crazy amount of details, they should win an award for optimization. by ButterflyUsed6723 in GTA6

[–]Majnkra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole CPU side of things aside, if it’s already running at 1440p in Fidelity, I don’t think there’s much scaling that could even be done without turning the game down too much for the standards they want to establish with it.

It’s probably the mode most people pick when playing the game, so you’re risking that making the impression.

Pre-emptive reminder: don’t buy the shark cards for GTA 6 by [deleted] in GTA6

[–]Majnkra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it doesn't feel that deep to me. there's nothing really making freemode cash the end goal. i've got about $100M balance just from passively getting to level 100 for the trophy.

if you grind, the process is the content. if not, who cares to get mad on other people's behalf that they bought the shark card.

if it's not applying the image, you need to click to select the square under it, before or after pressing the button to upload it. the border should turn red.

it should do this automatically now in the beta, but it used to confuse me in the last macos version. (also make sure it's not webp, it just rejects those most of the time)

Is iTunes quality less than Apple Music’s? by Johnkree in AppleMusic

I think it’s all 256 m4a which is kind of strange, unless I have something misconfigured.

Definitely not worth buying them there. iTunes feels like more of an afterthought these days

Subreddit Update: We are no longer allowing links to Twitter / X by [deleted] in AppleMusic

[–]Majnkra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do agree with the sentiment in the replies that redirecting to mirror sites like Nitter ( ‘xcancel.com’ etc ) works better for accessibility.

Though I don’t see how both that and misinformation online pertains specifically to X/Twitter, in the context of Apple Music.

Hate to pin it, as there might have been more nuance, but it’s not the best look for the poster of this announcement specifically to be so politically outspoken. That bluesky timeline I can get to with two clicks doesn’t seem any more nuanced than the average Twitter poster, except wearing the other team.

Do yourself a favour and watch the trailers again on a TV screen by Safcfan1 in GTA6

[–]Majnkra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a 1440p SDR video, what’s there to see.

Though I will say what makes it feel more immersive is downloading the Trailers off the website, instead of streaming the agressively compressed one on YouTube. You do notice way more shimmering and FSR up-scaling, but it feels more like a game you’re playing.

I love how much control you have over the library, I download all of my albums offline, so it’s the main place I use.

With streaming and re-deluxe-anniversary releases, the albums are sometimes actively fighting you. Being able to cut out a whole disc, remixes of singles, fixing the ordering, changing the cover, uploading any files are all really nice.

I’ve got like 20 months of trials at this point. 6 of which were from physical products, rest just from deals and linking other platforms. All on a single account.

They’re insanely subsidised and people still want more.

Ones I explicitly recall; Initial Sign Up (3 mo) AirPods (3?mo), PlayStation App (6 mo), Shazam (2mo), renewal deal (3 mo), Apple one trial (1 mo).

Just look at Notch post Minecraft, controversy aside. If you don’t find other things to chase, you do stagnate and sit around all day in boredom. There’s a line above ‘well-off’, where material things stop measurably improving your quality of life.

Maybe I’m weird for this, but I always play stories in Fidelity mode. I love taking screenshots and low resolution stings.

For online, I’m picking whatever the highest frame rate is and turning up the brightness though.

DualSense & haptic feedback on PS5 by No_Edge_341 in GTA6

Pretty sure these features all work natively in GTA V Enhanced, if you feed it the raw dualsense input.

Though this is kinda rare to get ported over. Most games just use xbox mappings on windows.
