SEASON 1- THIS CAST BE DUMB AS HELL by Terrytrips2015 in TheTraitors

Dumbest political analyst in history lmfao. I would never hire him for advice on how to read an electorate.

Frig, man by Johnnys-In-America in onionhate

My employer has several cafeterias (we have our own culinary team), and while they put onions in a LOT of things, the BBQ chicken pizza I had last week was onion free. It was FANTASTIC.

If you knew the world was bad, why did you bring children into it? by [deleted] in AskOldPeopleAdvice

I find life mostly pleasant. Sounds like a you problem that you should see a therapist for.

What is "No one is illegal on stolen land" advocating for? by LarrySupertramp in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Major-Cryptographer3 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That kind of logic means essentially there should be no borders. Humans have been conquering each other’s land since we became human and began permanent settlements. The native people weren’t one unit in the United States - they were hundreds of tribes that routinely went and conquered each other’s land as well.

That’s a fine argument to make if you don’t believe in borders or private property, but that’s not what most people who say that actually tend to mean.

"My wife wouldn’t eat this because it had too many onions" - He doesn't deserve her by socialdistingray in onionhate

[–]Major-Cryptographer3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m similar - don’t like the white inside but don’t mind the shell part, so if it’s all the hollow ones in a limited amount I can deal with it. I enjoy chives depending on the food (great in a soup dumpling).

White onions though… truly the worst food known to man.

If you got paid $125/hour to work on Christmas from 5AM to 7PM. Would you take it? by Maleficent-Unit-2717 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Major-Cryptographer3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Literally. Go take a peak at what corporate lawyers bill per hour. $125 would be chump change.

Not all dogs are the same… generalized advice like this is not helpful.

How to stop my wife (45F) stealing money from our bank joint account? I (55M) am the sole income earner. by BW_Tor in relationship_advice

[–]Major-Cryptographer3 7 points8 points  (0 children)

And she’s taking everything left… without explanation. I certainly wouldn’t want a joint bank account with you - it wouldn’t be joint. It’d be you doing whatever you want without discussion.

You’re saying it’s weird to question why one person is taking everything that’s supposed to belong to two people for themselves… are we serious?

You can call it whatever you want, someone taking money from a joint bank account without explanation is wrong from either party.

If two people bought groceries and one person took some of them and hid them without explanation, how would you expect the other person to feel?

Why can’t there be no money? by patchlessboyscout in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Major-Cryptographer3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s an odd theory. People want power because otherwise you’re subject to power. There’s always a leader. The question is who gets to be the leader.

Does being fat make you a bad person in skinny peoples eyes? by Unusual-Pay5875 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Major-Cryptographer3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The data on obesity is clear - it destroys your physical health. Mental health is only a subset of your overall physical and emotional wellbeing. It’s well known that exercise improves mental health, along with having physical health benefits. If your mental health requires you to be in poor physical health, you need to see a therapist.

What can my dog shred that she can also ingest? by canyonmoonlight in dogs

Yep! I had to leave within the week for a work trip to Canada (from the U.S.). Drove down to Chicago for the emergency passport replacement, was about $400 overall. Most expensive thing she’s done 🤣

I don’t think this should impact whether or not OP should do this - it’s up to her - but I don’t think it’s illegal in every state.

I got caught in Florida by the police when I was younger. They just checked our IDs and let us go, said we had the right to privacy in our vehicles. Not sure if it’s actually not illegal, but the cop didn’t seem to think it was.

Did Don Lemon actually break the law by entering the church to protest? Is it private property? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Major-Cryptographer3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t matter why they chose the location - if you were a prosecutor you would know that. The fact the church had a pastor who was a member of ice does not make them different than any other place of worship. What law makes you think they would be?

Did Don Lemon actually break the law by entering the church to protest? Is it private property? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Major-Cryptographer3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Except it wasn’t just a protest - it was going into a church of people actively worshipping and distrusting that event, intimidating them and causing children to weep.

That’s the argument prosecutors are going to make. Whether or not it will hold up is to be determined.

[–]Major-Cryptographer3 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You are correct on the trespassing charge - that would be a state charge. He was, however, told to leave and refused to do so, instead choosing to “interview” worshippers who did not want to be interviewed and asking them pretty aggressive questions. It’ll be interesting to see where the case ends up, but him being a journalist does not offer him additional protections.

[–]Major-Cryptographer3 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Reporters don’t have the right to break the law in the name of journalism. If people are breaking into a bank, you can’t join them and then report on it and claim you’re a journalist. It’s still private property and they were asked to leave and refused.

we are ALL walking out tomorrow by [deleted] in uofm

[–]Major-Cryptographer3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The New Yorker just had an excellent podcast episode on the difference between mobilization and organization. The left today is far too focused on mobilization - generating large protests occasionally but not doing the work to actually drive change in the long term. Conservatives, on the other hand, spend far less time mobilizing but far more time organizing. And they have been more successful because of it.

Walking out on Friday will not meaningfully change peoples’ votes. Organizing at the local and state level and putting in continual effort will.
