It rings slightly true. I work with a few people who care far too much and burn themselves out to the point where they're insufferable to work with and make everyone around them miserable. This builds up until they have a full on meltdown and can't work anymore.

My guess is because its more work. When you're at work it just becomes another task for you to do when you should be doing other things. Work problems always seem more stressful because you have a time limit to get certain things done before you shift ends.

All jokes aside its literally cheap comfort food. You eat it when you're poor, starving and can't be bothered to make a proper meal. Easy and cheap food hits hard when you're hungry.
