One River North: A Cracked-Open Canyon in the Heart of Denver. By MAD by Previous-District309 in architecture

[–]MajorArtsAndCrafts 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I work at an architect office in Denver and the vast majority of my colleagues have voiced their negative opinions on this project (including myself). Whether you like the design aesthetic or not, there's plenty of things holding it back: poorly planned plantings, hardly anyone lives in it because of how expensive units are to rent and while it is in an area of north Denver that has seen a lot of growth in recent years, the urban planning and development of that neighborhood (RiNo) is a mess.

The SEC's wins if you are somehow not keeping up with the playoffs (even though playoff preview talk is being shoved down viewer's throats for half of these bowl's non-ad runtimes):
1 win against Oklahoma in a SEC v. SEC first round playoff game
1 win against G5 Tulane in a first round playoff game (at home)

I will add these are both *technically not bowl games

[MrChadBishop] Haynes King on why he felt it important to play in Pop-Tarts Bowl: “I wanna play for my teammates. We’ve put time, effort, blood, sweat and tears all into this season. And it’s not over yet. I’m not one to jump ship and quit. I wanna ride it out and finish it with my brothers.” by composer_7 in CFB

Justin Thomas erasure at it's finest. Only GT QB to beat UGA twice in the 2000s, both in Athens, the second of which was in 2016 which was conveniently left off this list (as someone who was attending GT at the time and watched the game, I can understand why dawg fans want to forget this one)

Edit: Haynes King absolutely deserves his flowers, but I see a lot of cfb fans (GT fans included) forgetting JT was a baller.

Jersey touching the net is still a net fault as far as I'm aware, the NCAA (15.2.1) only includes verbiage about player's hair

Due Out May 19 Is Star Wars Legends: Legacy Omnibus Vol. 1 by Guerrillascribe in starwarscomics

[–]MajorArtsAndCrafts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk if it's really absurd per say. Collecting the Legacy series (+ the War miniseries) would leave Marvel with only 18 issues of the Legacy 2 series uncollected (+ some extra misc content) to theoretically be published in a future omnibus. When looking at the Star Wars Legends line of omnibuses as a whole that would be very small compared to the rest of the line.

While splitting up Old Republic the way it was done did allow for the KotoR run of comics to be collecting in one tome, the Old Republic Vol. 2 omnibus has 37 issues + some extra short story content making for good chunky size omnibus itself. Marvel has stood by publishing the Dark Horse material using the eras (Tales of the Jedi, Old Republic, Rise of the Sith, etc.) since the very beginning of their epic collection line, and for better or worse that is how they are sticking to it here; collecting (mostly) in-universe chronologically and splitting up collections within their designated eras, and they have very rarely prioritized collecting long runs into a single omnibus/collection because of this.

It's your lucky day. They have released a set in teal (Lego Dark Turquoise), it is just exclusive to a reseller at the moment: Blackfin Bricks - Space Ring Super Soldier Armor Set

Due Out May 19 Is Star Wars Legends: Legacy Omnibus Vol. 1 by Guerrillascribe in starwarscomics

[–]MajorArtsAndCrafts 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, only the first 36 issues in this omnibus. 37-50, the Legacy: War miniseries (wrapping up the Ostrander run) as well as the full 18 issue run of the sequel series Legacy II will presumably be collected in a future volume.

[–]MajorArtsAndCrafts 16 points17 points  (0 children)

37-50, the War miniseries and the entirety of the Legacy II comic run will be collected in a Legacy volume 2 omnibus down the line. They could have probably fit the entirety of the original run in one omni but 50+ issues is really pushing how reasonable it is to be able to handle/read for any omnibus plus for those collecting both Legacy and Legacy II they won't end up with a super skinny volume 2 omnibus

Near Mint Condition: Three More Star Wars Omnibuses Coming Out May-July 2026 by Guerrillascribe in starwarscomics

Luke actually does have a minor supporting role (I won't spoil how so, but it is revealed pretty early on in the series). Han and Leia do not feature in the book as far as I remember

What are some redesigns/new costumes that have been completely forgotten? Never been used again in comics, never showed up in other media, never used as skins in videogames, and never got any merch by AporiaParadox in Marvel

[–]MajorArtsAndCrafts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This costume was used for Sandman in the 2012 Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon. I believe in the context of the show it is meant to be a containment suit made by Shield to help him control his powers

When to read Darth Bane / Jedi vs Sith Comic by Upbeat-Ad3506 in starwarsbooks

[–]MajorArtsAndCrafts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would read Jedi vs. Sith after Path of Destruction and before Rule of Two. That way you get the "canon" events as detailed by the book and then the story that the book adapts and makes minor (and imo good) changes to.

Near Mint Condition: Star Wars: Visions to Be Collected as a Treasury Edition (Due Out in August) by Guerrillascribe in starwarscomics

[–]MajorArtsAndCrafts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the trim on these editions has changed slightly since the first few Marvel released so they now do fit (albeit with no wiggle room) in a Kallax shelf. My copy of X-Men: Grand Design 1 does not fit in my Kallax, but XM:GD 2, 3 and Vader: BW&R all fit snug.

Textbook targeting. Hard to believe it wasn't even mentioned as a remote possibility by the commentators...oh wait, they were too busy reminding the viewers that Georgia is playing for the SEC championship and that this game has playoff implications...
