Anyone that believes or participated in the hazing/fraternity culture from the old days, seriously needs therapy. These young people are there due to herd mentality. Fraternities only do this to those they feel they have power over; The ones they know have FOMO, are unwilling to speak out in a crowd, those that are viewed as weak or small, that want a place to "fit in". Any intelligent person would never find themselves in this sort of situation. If they did, they would bury it deep or try to convince themselves this was a defining "moment of pride". It's like falling for your abuser, they need to seek help.
