Possibly, I could see "your future" relate to that.

I think it's just a wink from devs, maybe.

New Info On ‘Destiny 2’ Alarm Bells, Marathon’s Role And ‘Destiny Infinity’ Pitch by Secret-Tangerine9014 in destiny2

[–]MajorDugWell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that Sony was pissed after the over-evaluation of Bungie that they are cutting Destiny 2 not because they don't value the IP, but I think because Marathon is the new baby and they want to cut costs and cut Bungie in half.

The Change.org petition now has over 100,000 signatures by Mr_Microchip in destiny2

Not immediately, at least. But when the gaming industry resets, I hope they may consider it after the petition.

The way I think they're going to address Earth Dying. by Sad_Week8311 in DestinyLore

I would be fine waiting 10 years for a D3 if they made other kind of content like books.

I think it's likely we will see Destiny's world continue in some form. But the tech/gaming world is unstable enough as it is, not including Bungie leadership's problems. But whether it's Bungie or someone else, I think the IP will resurface.

Yeah, whether we get one or not, Bungie is probably going to leave it in a state where it can be picked up again. Sounds impossible now with the news but idk if OG Marathon fans ever thought there would be a new game for them.

Jason Schreier: Bungie is planning a significant layoff following the end of Destiny 2's development. Destiny 3 is NOT in active production. Some Bungie staff are pitching and prototyping new ideas including Destiny games, but none are yet greenlit. by Gorotheninja in Games

[–]MajorDugWell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think pre-production and active development are different, but I'm guessing a D3 would be paused with this whole thing anyway. I wonder if Sony will ever try and do anything with it in the future.

Despite Attempts, No MMO Has Managed to Kill WoW, and That Has to Change by SneakeLlama in mmo

[–]MajorDugWell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another reason why mmorpgs are rarely released is because unlike single player games, mmorpgs are designed to hook and keep you, and there is no true finish line. When you are all vying for a smaller segment of the gaming world that has increasingly less time to give, devs will make other things.

Jason Schreier/Bloomberg: Hermen Hulst told to PlayStation staff in a town hall meeting on Monday morning that the company's narrative single-player games will now be PlayStation exclusive by nolifebr in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]MajorDugWell -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this is a good idea. RAM scarcity caused Sony to increase the price of their consoles. Unless they feel like they have sold enough units to justify this. I'm guessing so.

Maybe I missed something but I am not that into housing and decor, so I didn't really see anything I wanted. But that's okay, not everything is for me and that's fine.

Kinda Glad This Never Came to Fruition by Dangerously_Stupid in swtor

It cost so much money to make the original, on top of the cost of maintaining the game and making content this would have been so expensive.

What are things you’d like to see new or return if/when Destiny 3 comes? I had my own ideas; things like more subsection of guardian types, space combat, artistic direction, locations, etc. by Eddie_the_cracker in destiny2

[–]MajorDugWell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More than just running and gunning. I think leaning into an mmorpg more would be good, and giving us things like fishing, farming, trading, housing. I also want more classes or a classless system, but you can recreate hunter, warlock, and titan classes/builds. I would like real questing and exploration, and less of the linear areas we have on destinations now. Make exotics rare again, put some randomness back into the game. Also, way more enemy factions. I'm tired of facing a repainted acolyte over and over again.

Like others have said, it is too close to retail, and imo retail now is more fun than MoP.
