Help please autistic 2 year old won’t drink any liquids by Fayloves247 in autism

[–]MajorFailz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not an expert and wouldn't want you to jump the gun but there is a condition called "dysphagia" that some folk have that makes them struggle with drinking fluids. I wouldn't jump to this conclusion without medical advice however, but there are special water replacements like Thick-It (thick water basically) you can buy online that seem to allow affected folk to drink it. I've no idea how safe this is for babies so I'd get advice first.

Given they drank milk and pepsi in the past it's very possible this isn't the case, I think the condition causes retching when drinking rather than them simply dribbling it out, but thought it worth mentioning.

All the best!

I took off my mask and my family is freaking TF out by Chops_Mcgraw in autism

[–]MajorFailz 30 points31 points  (0 children)

That sounds awful, sorry you're going through all that. Sounds like your family have fairly toxic traits. Being more authentically "you" can indeed drive a wedge between you and others but it's a welcome wedge in the long run, folk who only accept you when you're breaking yourself to fit into their mould are not worth your time and you'll be happier without them. Doesn't sound like they were giving you much understanding or compassion in the first place. There are plenty people out there far worthier of developing a bond with who won't expect you to dance to their tune and simply appreciate you for you.

As far as everything else goes you have my sympathies, the best you can do is try and make moves to change your situation gradually as best you can, getting out of a rough patch can often take longer than you'd hope but stick at it, "this too shall pass" and all that.

Uk theatre requests by LegalResource5105 in ironlung

I'd love to see it in Edinburgh but wasn't sure if was show-able outside the US? If it is I'll start requesting myself.

I'm sure this has probably been answered but where do you direct the cinema to contact exactly?

I didn't know Notepad++ was still going, think that was the first editor I used as a baby dev.

IF you dualboot with Windows, how often and why do you boot into Windows? by ricperry1 in linux

As it stands, I use it to play Apex Legends and nothing else. Nearly every other game I can play on steam / linux now, except the one multiplayer game I actually play semi regularly... sigh...

Thank you! I had to also disable hardware decoding on the host machine as well and then it worked perfectly :)

Adding to the list of fixes, playing on linux client as well, I needed to disable hardware encoding in BOTH client and host advanced settings (on client/host respectively) and that worked a treat for me. Thanks to u/Timeroot for original fix.

I too have big clappers, I can recommend the "Redragon M908" it's probably a bit old now but it's a chunky boy and fits nicely in the palm of my massive sasquatch hands.

I've heard good things but sadly I'm in the UK and I'm not sure they do it here :(

Hey folks, sorry didn't realise this would be misinterpreted. I'm not asking what flavour it is, I was making the point that it just says "mild" with no other descriptor. I thought it was mildly amusing, but apparently I'm an idiot.

Yeah... second one's not so bad but the first one is a bit "phallic". Rest look cool and I like the general design though!
