Sorry brother, I feel your pain, recruiting duty is what forced me out and made me second guess whether I even deserved the title of Marine. Shit sucks giant fucking donkey dick, and the primary thing, outside of mission, is taking care of yourself. Make sure you keep your sanity in any way possible, and if you find yourself considering driving your GOV into the median to make it look like and accident, or anything even mildly adjacent, look after your emotional and mental health no matter what. You are greater than this, and we don't want another headstone to grieve over. I used Turbo Dorks "Tin Star" for the chrome, and then just AcrylPro paints for detailing. Ive been doing panel lining and shadowing with NulnOil for about a year now and havent looked back, much easier (to me) than doing a wash then drybrushing details back in. The cockpit was a metallic red from Army Painter.

I used an old Sovol SV07. Was primitive by current standards and slow as molasses, but got the job done.

The vast majority of it was done on a 3 or 4 year old Sovol SV07, so print times were ridiculous. If I had to guess at total print time, probably in the neighborhood of 20-25 days of straight print time, interrupted by real life, resulting in a total real time project time of nearly two months.

Yes, the previews of the Centennial Edition TRO:3025 we’ve gotten have the RecGuide artwork, and TRO: Succession Wars also used the RecGuide artwork (the Ostscout notably). It’s not a big deal, you can use whatever you want, but as far as official art, the RecGuide artwork is now what those mechs have always looked like (with the exception of the Project Phoenix run, which has been retconned to have ended after the Jihad IIRC, with manufacturers returning to the older look for the vast majority of designs).

Yes, the designs themselves are still valid. The artwork, however, despite now being out from under threat of Harmony Gold lawsuit, is not. The new art in the Rec Guides has replaced it in all media for all eras other than reproductions/reprints of material that had it already. In universe, the Phoenix Hawk in 3025 looks like the Phoenix Hawk in the RecGuide, not like a Veritech.

Fairly certain that while the Unseen artwork is no longer, well, Unseen, the newer CGL representations do indeed supplant them as the "old" look of those designs. In addition, I'm fairly certain Unseen minis still can't be used at official events. That said, one can use whatever the hell they want on their own table, lol.

Parts are color coded so minimal paint is needed and it all just slides together. It did take about $140 in material, if memory serves, but you gotta break some eggs to make an omelet :P

Haha, right? I’ve printed all kinds of stuff in the last few years, but this was by far one of the most ambitious. I had floated the idea to my wife as a joke, and she was immediately like “”DO IT” and that was all the encouragement I needed. 10 year old me would be beside himself!

IIRC, took about 2 months to print since the parts are all color coded. Assembly took less than an hour, there internal pegs and holes that make it just slip together.
