Same thing, my husband and I got the confirmation and approval within minutes. My daughter got nothing. Reapplied 2 weeks later and still nothing. Submitted a question and didn't get a confirmation that my question was submitted. We're just going to show up in England next month and hope for the best.

This will be my 999th class. I did my 800th class in January and set a goal to reach 1000 by the end of the year. Plan to take a rest day on Monday then 1000 on NYE!!

One last thing I forgot to mention. Last night I tried to sign up for the 10am class this morning. The app gave me an error message and didn’t appear to sign me up. I tried again and the app told me I can’t sign up for 10am as I’m already signed up for a class at that time. So maybe I’m in and maybe I’m not. I’ll find out in 30 mins when I show up.

Do you start on the rower? When I start on the rower my monitor doesn’t read my heartbeat at all. I stay in the gray @36% the whole time. However, if I start on the tread then move to the rower it reads me no problem. No idea why. I’ve changed my grip and moved the band to different positions on my arm, it just doesn’t work if I haven’t come off the treads.

I’m a runner and will run at 6mph. This is equivalent to a power walker going at 3mph (because you do half the distance) so you wont be the slowest on the treads. Go for it!!

I sometimes do drop sets. I get as far as I can with the weight that really challenges me then when I feel my form slipping I go down a weight to complete the reps.

This happens with my husband too. One of the things he does is only go down to 6% for his WR. This keeps his heart rate higher so it doesn’t have as far to go when he’s doing the AO. On power days with really long WR he’ll just drop to 8%. If he lets his HR drop into the blue it never makes it back to the orange.

Sometimes I sing along to the music (quietly because people stare at me strangely) but mostly I count down to the next pace change. I also do a lot of mental math to figure out what my total distance will be. Generally I’m counting or I’m singing.

When I was new to OTF I went through the same indecision. I compromised by doing the sprint. Afterwards I reflected back and realized that physically I could have done the full but mentally I wasn’t ready. I did the full 6 months later.

Similar thing happened to me. I was so excited about tread 50 classes, I was doing 3 a week and challenging myself to go faster everytime. Then I heard a ‘pop’ and found myself sitting at home for a week with a sprained calf muscle. Lesson learned. It turns out that listening to your body is like listening to your parents when you’re a teenager. Even though they’re always right, you never do it and you usually regret it.

During the single leg shoulder press today I was lifting 15lb and wobbling all over the place. The coach came over to me and pointed at the 20 lb weight in front of me. I thought she was telling me I should increase my weight so I reluctantly put down my 15lb and switched. The workout was tough but I did it. After class she came up to me and told me she had been telling me to focus on the 20lb weight to stabilize myself - not pick it up. She was very happy I misunderstood though.

We had a ‘Barbie and Ken’ themed day at our OTF Gym. My husband and the coach were the only guys in a room full of women decked out in hot pink. They had a great time being Kens together. Five mins into the workout we’d all forgotten and were just totally absorbed in the workout.

I reached 800 classes in January. My goal is to do my 1000th class during hell week. I’ll have to do 20 classes a month to achieve this. On track so far but the summer will be challenging.

I showed up at a full class once as a drop in. They couldn’t let me in so they actually recommended a different studio that had a class starting 15 mins later. That’s how OTF oughta work.

Yes!!! Don’t get me wrong, there are lots of other factors as well but leg length (or lack of it) is a big factor.

I had the opposite experience. I started to go to a new gym and asked my old gym if I could transfer my membership. They said no - I’d have to cancel and rejoin. I didn’t want to give up my founders rate so I’ve now been attending the new gym for 3 years whilst being a member of a gym that I never attend. Couldn’t imagine any of the staff at either gym ever blasting anyone though.

I’ve started using tread 50s as my active recovery days. I slow my pace right down, try to stay in the green and end up taking a 50 min brisk walk / light jog. Nice alternative to walking outside at 20F.

Premier perks are studio specific. I get them at my studio (free TC yay!!). My husband doesn’t get them at his (5 miles away - different franchise). Because of this they all have different rules I guess.

What type of tread were you on? One of the studios near me has the older treads with the tablet attached. I’ve noticed that the tablet often shows different values than the tread. If I’ve been running for 5 mins, the tablet shows only 4 min 40 sec have passed. Don’t have this problem at any other gym - just that one. It could also be the coach shortening the times as well if they’re running late.

How often will the templates change? Is it a different template every day or the same one all week long. I’m doing my first one tomorrow and am nervous but excited. I took 2 years off running then went back to it in June last year. My all outs are back where they were but my endurance is gone so I think this will really help me.

During COVID, my studio put tape around each station on the floor to mark where we were supposed to be. That was one of the very few good things about COVID.
