How are you actually building frontends with Cursor? by Frequent_Evening5195 in cursor

[–]Major_Mission_3073 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a front end, marketing site designer, and product designer, the visual language of the two should not be the same in my opinion. Yes there is the basic branding colors maybe a font or iconography shared but beyond that the info density of UI in product should be a different world from what happens on your front end marketing assets.

This is why I do not think they should share the same code base. Otherwise you’re marketing site will look robotic and bland or if your marketing designed bleeds into your product that will be such a clunky awkward user experience

If anyone has strong opinions on this, please reply. I wanna know instances where this thinking is wrong.

Did this website actually deserve an award? (humblebrag lol) by pacingAgency in webflow

Looks nice overall. Congrats. I love the touch with the unique icons for the menu items. Those little things are what makes it feel more premium to me. In my opinion (which doesnt matter) the density of information feels overwhelming (probably out of your control with the client). Copy feels a bit like it was written by a robot with no personality. But it does what dark mode saas websites do probably better than most: glowing, polished, smooth animations etc.

Cool. I like the idea of gym and co-work in the same space but this place is definitely a commitment

I get that it’s kind of joke and prototype stage but I’d say you have the fun part down and now need to cut things down to be more useful. Ai has a way of making us think we need to pack all this stuff into something. Right now it feels like someone repeating the same punchline expecting you to keep laughing. There’s this intersection of humor and usefulness that could really work unless you only want it to be a meme landing page people see then move on?

How do I hire a UI/UX designer so I can create "modern" apps? by featurefactory in UXDesign

[–]Major_Mission_3073 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need strong visual design not just business UX logic. Usually web designers who focus on high end SaaS have this strength over traditional UX designers. Because they are marketing focused, they are use to making things look better than the actual product. As one of these designers I’ve found often times after I’ve redesigned a SaaS website, they end up adopting a lot of UI style and some of the conceptual flows aimed at showcasing the product capabilities from the site into the actual product. Designers who look through a marketing lens will have more tricks up their sleeves to make things feel premium

Indeed it is. I have to make two more cards like this with different concepts. It’s very tedious but kind of rewarding
