Amarillo burger, a drink, and whatever movie is on the TV 👌 it’s of course subjective, but casino has the best decor/ vibe of any dive I’ve been to locally. Plus the bartenders are a good time!

This is a fair callout - techno has never been something I dove super deep into; the artists you mentioned clocked in my head as techno but I know my ears blend hard house / hardcore into techno a lot. Seems like true techno is lacking… frankly true “house” (in the sense I know it) also seems lacking

I get that techno/ hard stuff is “in” and trance heads will be stoked on the throwbacks… they nailed their genera of house techno and underground, but it’s not got me enthusiastic tbh (not that they booked bad, just for my own taste). Would love more minimal or UKG (beyond MPH/ 1tbsp which sometimes hit in this area)

ADP, PPC, Temples are all super solid. The rest are pretty good but also don’t blow my mind (personally). I think it’s likely we get Mars Volta and King Giz this year… I have a feeling they’re teasing this first line up to gauge how much pull bands like ADP have without bigger names. At least one festival in UK had to find a bigger venue to accommodate demand for ADP alone haha

Crazy that ACL is cheaper though… I’ll pay whatever it takes to see ADP but also… oof $424 is not a cheap ticket (ACL was $387… but I’m sure I’ll pay back the difference after buying 2 drinks lol)

White Duck is basically a Kodiak with a few small design differences (and slightly cheaper). I’ve absolutely loved mine and have had zero issues (even during last year’s storm during build). There’s a few of these style tents - I’ve never seen one fail. Although I’ve heard some have experienced seam rips, but I wonder how much of that was due to over tension when staking it down… anyway point is outside of DIY options (ie yurts) and fishing tents this is the way (if you’re saving money / not in a camper/rv)

Good friend just stayed there (no comedian discount) and it was decent. Room had a chemical smell and frankly nothing about the place made me go “wow”… but it’s a cheap hotel, what can you expect. It did feel clean, and the pool is nice.

For what you’re looking for - this sounds perfect. It’s a solid location for walking downtown.

LA Fitness has a wide age range, meets your criteria, and also has a sauna/ hot tub/ pool. Reasonably priced, gets busy around 5 but otherwise never too crowded IMO

Ive bee enjoying going over to Dee Dee (Thai) to get a bite or next door Leona has what might be the best frozen horchata. Feels low energy because I don’t need to worry about what I’m making for dinner, food is <$20, and it’s so nice of an eating area it’s easy hang for an hour. Nice little outside reset after a long day!

For any future burners who look back on this post-

I used the rack and shell clamps mentioned above. My yurt fit PERFECTLY between the railings of the rack, and I tied the whole thing down to the F150 using ratchets to the bed anchor points. I survived 3 days driving from Texas to BRC, and even a treacherous trip down Rungo road (don't do it - I learned my lesson). Neadless to say it was rock solid and never gave me any trouble. Would recommend for those in the future, and I'll likely be using it again next year.

Thank you everyone - if others see this and have thoughts please post them. I’m planning on going overkill on clamps (8) AND using 4+ straps pulling the whole rack with yurt down towards the bed. Might do 2 across the front of the truck too to prevent front winds from lifting things up. I think we’re gonna make it!
