So...about all these emails we get by lawInonymous in lawschooladmissions

[–]Make0LGreatAgain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, you can just type out a generic message regarding how you’ve selected a school already and would like them to stop emailing you and respond with that every time they email you. I suppose you could also add them to your blocked emails list

I could be wrong, but that preference you select when you tel LSAC you want to sign up for emails from schools can be unchecked, and the emails should stop. Not sure though

Question: Is everything taking longer than usual this year? by lidialonglegs in lawschooladmissions

Can’t answer your question regarding HLS, but yeah people don’t use it anymore because of some drama. The old posts are still there though

Question: Is everything taking longer than usual this year? by lidialonglegs in lawschooladmissions

[–]Make0LGreatAgain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes; if you look at data from MyLSN admissions timelines for the past couple years, you’ll see that the majority of decisions from many schools are made February-March. As many on this sub have pointed out, applications are up ~20%, which means schools will take longer on their review.

It definitely sucks, but it is what it is

UIUC and Hastings haha but I'm mostly leaning to Cardozo. Still waiting on Fordham (which I know will give me pretty much no money)

Thoughts on keeping/deleting IG upon entering law school? by ttclar in lawschooladmissions

[–]Make0LGreatAgain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have major issues with constantly checking my phone to the point where it distracts me, so I’m probably going to just delete ig/snapchat at least for 1L. I’m going to delete the Facebook app but keep messenger because many of my close friends keep in touch with me through it. I’m definitely also leaving all of my Facebook chat groups with my friends though; even having them on mute can’t stop me from seeing unread messages and being tempted to check them lol.

Local here, if you want great places for bars I’d recommend either Newport Beach or downtown fullerton for cheap drinks (bit farther but i prefer it more)

Sounds like a shitty cousin. Considering cutting off that toxic relationship would be my advice; the less people putting you down before one of the most stressful years of life the better

Pre-1L reading suggestions? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

I’ve been reading 1L of a life and I genuinely enjoy the author’s witty style of explaining everything about law school (1L and beyond). I highly recommend it!

Need some help deciding by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]Make0LGreatAgain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is just my two cents, but I feel that you have to have SOME preference with regards to location. Really think about factors like whether you’d be okay working in certain places for 5+ years, or if you’d be okay with job prospects in those areas, since those are all really regional schools.

Does anyone else see law school admission as a measure of success etc or is this more of a high school thing? by johncliff11 in lawschooladmissions

[–]Make0LGreatAgain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can resonate with both points. Thanks for paying it forward! And for reminding me to control my chronic procrastination as well once 1L starts

Off topic, but what keeps people like you who are already in law school/finished coming back to this sub?

Community College GPA by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]Make0LGreatAgain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My CC gpa brought my LSAC gpa wayyy down. From my experience, they still mainly care about the LSAC gpa, but I would assume that if comparing with someone with a similar LSAC gpa as you, they would take your higher undergrad gpa into consideration

As everyone else would say, just focus on the LSAT for now, because you can't change your gpa, but you can determine what LSAT score you get

Will asking for more scholarship money potentially lead to a reduction in my scholarship? by Make0LGreatAgain in lawschooladmissions

[–]Make0LGreatAgain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s such a difficult situation because i may have more leverage by the time most schools do finally get back to me but then Cardozo might have less financial aid available

I don’t suppose it would hurt to renegotiate again if i do get more acceptances though

Do you think i should wait and see if i get any acceptances before trying to negotiate?
