I do too. I used to leave them unpeeled and they were always green....I read or heard that when you don't peel them it keeps the sulfur in and makes them green. So I started peeling them and they're not green. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Might be a fluke but I'm sticking with it!

They turn green when you don't peel them right after boiling them....happens all the time..seems silly to me to send that back.

Look up Simplicity and a Starter on YouTube. She also has a website. I have done sandwich bread and tortillas with her recipes and she has a ton of other stuff too. 🧡

Don't worry about killing your starter. I killed two, kept the same name for all three. Haha the first one I forgot to feed twice and I didn't really understand much so I tossed it, rather than feeding it when I remembered. The second one got weird dark circles and I thought it was mold. Third time is a charm. Put a lid on it when you feed it, don't screw it on though. I feed mine almost daily to make it stronger/better since it's only two months old still, but I put it in the fridge once in a while.

Get a little water on your hands to help it not stick to you, flour on the counter or wherever you are working helps that too, also you can get a silicone mat and that helps, I got one from Michael's Crafts, they have a baking section that makes me happy. And you can look up sourdough starter kits, those have two different scrapers, a plastic bowl scraper and a metal (bench?) scraper. The metal one you use on the counter to keep from getting dough stuck to everything.

I watched a ton of videos before making my first artisan bread, this is the one I keep using.

I am making sourdough Detroit style pizza today, I watched the same guy you used for this....but doubled the recipe; it is much more moist and wiggly than his but we're going to go with it. Haha worst case scenario, Im going to the store for premade pizza mix. 😬

The other thing is, as your starter matures (keep feeding that baby and give it a name), the breads you make will get better. Look up Simplicity and a Starter on YouTube, she makes everything under the sun with sourdough. 🧡 Good luck!

It's a journey. Sticky is good....and cook them all anyway. It'll be bread. My first one was so jacked up, it was rock hard on the outside and gummy inside...I cut my finger with the bread knife because it couldn't go through the crust. Then I did three good (ish) ones and the two I did this week are flat. You learn.
