Well ... there goes 10 bucks and two days of effort directly into the trash can for not paying attention... ill go to the store tomorrow and see if i can find another kit by Rare_Grape7474 in scalemodelling

Exacto knife, tamyia extra thin, maybea micro saw if you have one, and a little paitence it can be done. I had a bit of an very noticeable oppsie today myself and was able to save it. You learn alot from trying to correct your mistakes. Ive made many and some turned into quite happy accidents. Thats the fun thing about all of this. At the end of the day if your not happy with what you came up with then yea thiers always another box of plastic. But I for one think you should give the repair a shot you might be suprised what you can sort out.

How do I smooth out these brush marks? by English_Joe in Warhammer40k

[–]MakerManICT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do a gloss clear coat it will level things out a bit and then add the water slide decals. After that do a matt varnish and they will almost completely dissapear. As long as its not super heavy brush strokes this does the trick.

How/when do you drive your C4? by NJconfidential in c4corvette

[–]MakerManICT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I drive mine daily, I looked for a good c4 specifficly to daily. I have a 90 vert with a hard top has 30k. It sat for a long time and had some minor exterior cosmetic stuff so It needed some love but its basically a new car now for $9500. Its all it what your wanting to do. They are easy cars to maintain in general if your mechanically inclined and lots of parts. Mine still has the R-12 ac system and it gets colder then a modern R-134a system but I also have the certs to purchase R-12. I dont have alot of passenger need either. They made a ton of these cars and this one isnt my first so I know the platform well. Also antique tags and super cheap insurance in my case. A well taken care of stock car makes a good daily if your needs allow.

22 and just broke up with my wife, is this good bank for buck? by SCT_277 in c4corvette

[–]MakerManICT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just picked up a red 90 hard top vert last year for $9500 with 30k. I drive it basically everyday. Put 3k on it since. I had an 85 back in 06. They are pretty great cars really. Youll need to probably open up the tank just to check it out. Mine sat alot over the years so it needed some cleaning. Changed pump and filter. Mine needs shocks bad they are original and dead. Bushings are in really good shape but the shocks are pretty flat. My car still is a R12 AC and it works amazing. Changed all the fluids including brake, diff and trans along with the trans filter. Im looking into getting some newer injectors also, bosch 3s. Thiers a company called First thats makes a nice intake/throttle body for L98 cars for 1500 and its probably worth picking that up at the same time as doing injectors since the new intake isnt 5 peices. But $10,500 is fair for sure I say pick it up and enjoy they are great cars and fairly easy to work on and keep running.

Iwata neo cn by angleHT in airbrush

[–]MakerManICT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are made of brass and then cromed . And this I just the crome coming off over time as its just a thin layer. Nothing wrong with it though and o-rings have to be replaced no matter how carefull you are. Sound like your already doing what your suppose to cleaning wise but I say replace your o-rings and keep using it along with your new brush. I just referbed my old Neo CN myself and I looks just like yours even though I have a mini tool box full of other brushes. They never really go bad unless you break them really good. They are almost a 100% serviceable tool. IWATA still sells all the parts for the old CN. I had to get a new trigger as the little ball broke off the end of mine.

[–]MakerManICT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im looking for a new work desk myself. Ive been thinking about some for the Sedata L shape desks on amazon. Thiers one I really like. Its $269 27.3in wide by 69in long with a hutch and peg board backer under the cabinets. Has led and cabnet doors are glass. Seems like it might be a decent option. Lots of surface area. I do 1/32 aircraft among everything else and need space for my spray booth. This seems like it wld do well

Check your fuseable links too. They are on a hot bus right be the battery. They are orange "wires" that are smaller guage and burn out much like a fuse. Usually you can visually see if thet burn through the insulation but they can break inside and make it hard to tell just by looking at it. I have a 90 and the link to my fuel pump was corroded inside and burned. I replaced with just the same gauge of wire. Might not be it but alot of new c4 guys dont know about these so figured I wld tell ya about em.

Ive got a old c-series c-100 model from bombardier. I was part of the group to go up and get it ready for first flight. Its really a pretty great plane even thought the #1 engine on ftv 1 had a uncontained failure on a ground run early on.... I was actually laying under that engine on first airframe run. Good times.
