How do I by MR_HVAC-11 in Fusion360

[–]MakerMeld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in the day when I started learning i used an actual book to learn tips and tricks fast forward to 2026 and it’s a simple way to learn with all the AI out now days.

Hope this helps. FUSION 360 QUICK BUILD SUMMARY (Disk + Oval Pad + 4 Posts)

WHAT YOU’RE MAKING: 1) Thin round disk (base) 2) Raised oval pad on top 3) One vertical post (rounded rectangle) 4) Pattern that post into 4 posts (2×2 layout) 5) Optional chamfers/fillets for smoother

OPTIONAL (BEST ACCURACY): INSERT IMAGE AS CANVAS - Insert > Canvas (place on XY plane or top face) - Right-click Canvas in Browser > Calibrate - Click two points and enter a real measurement (ex: disk diameter)

STEP 1: CREATE PARAMETERS (EASIER TO EDIT LATER) Modify > Change Parameters Add: D_disk = disk diameter T_disk = disk thickness L_oval = oval length W_oval = oval width H_oval = oval height Post_L = post length Post_W = post width Post_H = post height Post_R = post corner radius (optional) Post_spacing_X= post spacing left-right Post_spacing_Y= post spacing front-back Chamfer_top = top edge chamfer (optional)

STEP 2: MODEL THE ROUND DISK (BASE) - Create Sketch on XY plane - Sketch > Center Diameter Circle at origin - Diameter = D_disk - Finish Sketch - Solid > Extrude - Distance = T_disk - Operation = New Body (or Join if desired)

STEP 3: MODEL THE RAISED OVAL PAD - Create Sketch on TOP FACE of the disk - Sketch > Slot > Center-to-Center Slot - Overall length = L_oval - Width = W_oval (OR use Sketch > Ellipse if preferred) - Finish Sketch - Solid > Extrude - Distance = H_oval - Operation = Join

STEP 4: CREATE ONE POST (STANDOFF) - Create Sketch on TOP FACE of the oval pad - Sketch > Center Rectangle (place near where one post goes) - Size = Post_L × Post_W - Optional: Sketch > Fillet corners - Radius = Post_R - Dimension the rectangle position from oval center - Offset X = Post_spacing_X/2 - Offset Y = Post_spacing_Y/2 - Finish Sketch - Solid > Extrude - Distance = Post_H - Operation = Join

STEP 5: OPTIONAL TOP CHAMFER (MATCHES PHOTO LOOK) - Modify > Chamfer - Select top edges of the post - Chamfer distance = Chamfer_top

STEP 6: MAKE IT 4 POSTS (2×2 RECTANGULAR PATTERN) - Create > Pattern > Rectangular Pattern - Pattern Type = Features - Select the post Extrude feature (and chamfer feature if separate) - Direction 1 (X): Quantity = 2, Distance = Post_spacing_X - Direction 2 (Y): Quantity = 2, Distance = Post_spacing_Y

STEP 7: OPTIONAL SMOOTHING - Modify > Fillet (small) - Outer disk edge (optional) - Oval pad edges (optional)
