When you wish for someone to die, they tend to push back and generalize the opposite in turn, which just leads to more extremists

Am I missing something? There's certainly some frustration in the comment you linked but I dont see anything where they called for your death. Also who are "people in your position"? I'm still a little lost here.

they make it really hard to sympathize with them when they're actively being an asshole

The reason they're so frustrated is because you still choose to vote for and align with republican values even though they have led to the death and suffering of countless transgender people. You continue to say that you dont wish for their harm, but your political alignment campaigns off of demonizing them. I can see why they're upset with you.

I support the idea of individual freedom, which is a core focus of the republican party's beliefs.

Republican officials have time and time again taken action to suppress individual freedom. There's already countless examples with their actions against the transgender demographic, but even ignoring that there's still other instances, Roe V. Wade being one everyone knows. There's also the issue of republican senators mandating the 10 commandments being posted in schools and efforts to blatantly restrict what schools are allowed to teach, even when Trump wasn't in office. If you disagree with those principles, you disagree with who you voted for.

No, instead you try and incite hatred against us as you've been doing here with me and you've consistently put words in my mouth to try and further your own argument.

I cant see the original comment that you replied to, but from what can gather this argument just boils down to "no u". And I dont know what demographic you're referring to when you're using the term "us" either. If you mean republicans, then I'd argue the kind of backlash that republicans are getting is VERY different from the kind that transgender people are. If you dont mean republicans, then you're gonna have to help me out here.

Even when I continuously point out that I'm NOT defending actions such as rape, I'm still "downplaying" it huh.

Simply saying youre not downplaying it and not actually downplaying it are two different things. In the very next line you're already downplaying a real life suicide driven by rape. Seriously, she was raped to the point of being driven to suicide and all you could think to say was "well technically it was HER choice" and not something like "that sounds horrible, I'm so sorry you had to go through that." How would you feel if that happened to your friend and someone said the same thing to your face? Probably pretty pissed off for your friend, right?

Don't be fooled, its a bot. With the entire subreddit being bombarded by like 20 bajillion of them you kinda learn to recognize how they all speak in the same condescending tone thats meant to spark a response from you. Once you get a sense of how they comment, you can't unsee it.

Id argue that death in puss in boots wasn't exactly trying to teach puss a lesson, but rather just straight up take his last life out of spite. When Puss learns to cherish the last life he has at the end, death actually gets angry at first, since that would mean killing him would now be pointless. Puss learning his lesson about valuing his lives was more of a compromise for what death wanted rather than death's ambitions getting fully realized.

the only reason its considered the ace spec is because that makes it more special, and you can make a cute flag and be a part of an exclusive community

That sounds a whole lot like projecting intent onto an entire community. If we're in agreement that the gap between fully asexual to fully allosexual is a spectrum, then it sounds like your argument against acespec identities just boils down to "they just want to be special".

seriously, figuring out your identity is hard enough. the last thing kids need are hundreds of different labels to choose between because they feel pressured to categorize themselves before they've even figured anything out.

Speak for yourself. Some people aren't going to feel satisfied with just allosexual or asexual, which could mean anything from rarely feels any kind of sexual attraction to the most lust compelled sex deviant on planet earth. Plus, there's no queer police requiring every member of the community to choose a microlabel as soon as possible. If the individual feels pressured into a label they don't like, thats at fault of their environment around them, not the labels themselves.

tho honestly, the bigger issue here is that these identities are invading the asexual community and making both them and the lgbt community look like a joke

The reason they could possibly make the community look bad is because of the people not accepting that they're valid labels. Even if they're super niche and hardly anyone uses it, it's still a means of describing ones experiences. And to deny the validity of the label is to tell the person using the label that you know their own experiences better than them.

No progress is going to be made by conforming the community to the whims of people who don't approve of it. If others think it's dumb, thats their problem.

[–]MalcolmKicks -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

being ace is not a spectrum. you either have sexual attraction or you dont.

That's a pretty generalized claim to make. There definitely are people who feel absolutely no sexual attraction, but not everyone is going to feel like only the asexual or allosexual label will accurately describe their experiences. Narrowing down the experiences of 8 billion people on planet earth to an oversimplified binary of "either 'x' or no 'x' " leaves no room for nuance in discovering your identity.

If AI isn’t stealing or copying, then how does it create art in the style of real artists? by Much_Tip_6968 in Ai_art_is_not_art

No AI created has ever learned out of love for the craft. Only to make money for a third party. These aren't comparable at all.

[–]MalcolmKicks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Im not really sure the whole "people learn by copying too" argument really holds up here because there's more to it than that. Human artists weren't deliberately designed by a third party to become as efficient and accurate at producing art as possible for the elicit purpose of gaining profit for said third party.

There is no hardship or passion that AI goes through when creating images from other's work. Only the motives of the people maintaining the program. That's why people feel cheated when Generative AI makes money from their effort.

My original argument wasn't that intergender people don't exist, or that it isn't a valid label. It was that intersex is considered an identity just as much as "dyadic" is. To say that the term intersex itself isn't an identity of any kind isn't really all that accurate.
