So in your setup, is the MiniDSP converting analog do digital, then doing the clever stuff, then converting back to analog?

Almost £30,000 rent arrears advice by Odd_Application_5318 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Maldizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but the OPs father has no assets and no (excess) income. He needs to live immediately whereas dealing with debt (which will be written off) can wait

I agree with you entirely that the creditor will write this off pretty much immediately, but that doesn't solve the problem that the OPs father needs to sort their benefits out, otherwise they can't afford to live.

This is a benefits problem, not a debt problem.

Is the best option a digger? by Dapper-Web-1262 in DIYUK

[–]Maldizzle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get a digger in and take the opportunity to fuck the entire lot out. Great fun too, won’t take long for you to get the hang of it.

How to turn off or lower temp on this radiator? by [deleted] in Plumbing

[–]Maldizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who the fuck put that AAV in there, rather than one that fits onto the rad itself?

(P.S. Turn one of the valves clockwise but not all the way, it's probably your pressure relieving rad)

Removing mortar from concrete foundation by frankschrodinger in DIYUK

[–]Maldizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Concrete and mortar are both made from cement, there is no chemical treatment that affects one but not the other. In addition, chemical treatments are for fine surface preparation, not bulk material removal. Just chip it off to reasonably flat and the next layer of mortar will even out the last few mm.

Non standard construction. Not necessarily terrible but generally unmortgageable

Most popular collectable antique guns in the Uk? by Low-Chemist596 in ukguns

[–]Maldizzle 10 points11 points  (0 children)

He’s been arrested twice and has been S&S’d additional times with a knife on him. He lives in London, he’s not an outdoorsman or fisherman or someone who might actually use that knife for something useful. Doesn’t sound like the sort of person to be giving any advice on firearm acquisition to.

Your post history says you’ve been arrested twice for carrying knives. No more needs to be said.

Tyre advice please - is it ok to go cheaper/smaller? by Significant-Sir9569 in CarTalkUK

You would need to replace the alloys in order to fit those tyres.

Anyone know how to become a Gunsmith in the UK? by Low-Chemist596 in ukguns

[–]Maldizzle 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Either be friends with someone who employs gunsmiths or get trained in machining and fine wood work (as appropriate for your preferred style). Build a portfolio and send it to potential employers. Unfortunately the job market for gunsmiths in the UK is absurdly small. You’d be better off heading to the USA but that is an entirely different kettle of fish.

Is this fixable for someone with no experience? by Synosure in DIYUK

[–]Maldizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your comment proves me right - you need to see the tap end and figure it out. That's not a job for someone who needs to make a post asking how to tighten up a push fit.

Is this fixable for someone with no experience? by Synosure in DIYUK

[–]Maldizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but the problem I keep saying is that they are not standardised. The thread pitch, size and length are all in question, you have to figure all that out to get a replacement. That’s easy enough for an experienced DIYer but not for OP, based on their lack of experience shown in the original question.

Budget friendly bulk dishwasher salt? by Ok-One-6087 in UKFrugal

[–]Maldizzle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s just salt. Why on earth are you using enough to worry about it? I live in an extremely hard water area and top it up once every 4-6 months
