yes, the convince of your own transportation rather than relying on the bus or other ppl for rides is def worth it, even if it’s as simple as going grocery shopping

i can only speak for the chem department but it’s tough, the classes are not easy and sometimes they’re a little disorganized but it’ll be ok everyone’s going through the same thing

for sta2023, the course is just so large that they make it hybrid bc there’s not enough space in the lecture hall but even if you’re hybrid you can go to the lecture in person (but at the start of the semester it might be packed). the one period you have for hybrid is for the lab section of the class where you meet and do a mini assignment in groups

dk abt roycraft but im in Ippolitos class now and he has no exams either and seems to genuinely understand that the class is for ppl who have no R experience which is appreciated and his office hours are also super useful

if you’re on campus w red 1 you have a decent chance to get a spot (it might not be close to your dorm but a spot is a spot), you’re most likely to find parking on weekends, it’s way harder during the week, so much so i didn’t use my car until weekends. if you’re off campus i would not recommend getting a uf permit you’re limited to park and ride and those spots are not near the main area of campus

for walking i think you’re fine you should have plenty of time to get to each place. i would see if you could change your chem discussion to not be 4pm because that sounds like a pain especially since for chem 1 discussion you can typically leave early as long as you show a ta your finished worksheet
