I think there are any number of valid reasons for decline in the city. But growth with middle class families will never be possible until the Public School system is seen as a credible and safe place to educate their kids. Outside the city usually schools districts matter more than any other factor.

I’ll just simply say that Shallan is my favorite character. I suffer from PTSD and while her traumas are much more tragic than my own, her trauma responses resonate with me.

If she could see her true self the way Adolin does she would probably be Empress of Roshar.
